I am mad about this for many reasons.
1) I am mad it took 15 minutes for LEO to respond.
2) I am mad at the filmmaker guy for thinking the response wasn't all what it could have been. Would have getting his nephew killed been the appropriate response?
3) if I rolled up on that, I would have drawn my gun. What if I shot him? Would my life getting turned upside down have been worth it?
4) AZ is a shall isue state. Where were all the CCW holders during this event?

That is a surprise, but Phoenix is a pretty large city. It's hard for the cops to be everywhere all the time. Also, the police reportedly believe they responded within three minutes, not fifteen. Hard to say who is right.

Yep! Nearly as stupid as that guy in California who fired up the entire middle east with his P. O. S. movie on YouTube. People can be so stupid, probably including me. :o
4) AZ is a shall issue state. Where were all the CCW holders during this event?
According to Arizona's laws, as a CCW holder, I can only respond to deadly threats to myself. Also, although there are lots of people carrying, we are not as high a percentage of the general population as many people believe. According to DPS at http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Concealed_Weapons/Statistics/
Current Arizona Statistics
Statistics Last Updated: 9/30/2012 7:21:16 AM
Arizona statewide Active Permits: 174798
Maricopa county which includes Phoenix has 85505 active permits.
The entire table, including a breakdown by county appears at the link I listed. It does not copy and past well into KahrTalk, so you will have to visit the link. Sorry about that!

A guy waving an RPG would certainly satisfy this criteria.

There are plenty of Darwin Award winners out there... well, buried some place... who waved toy guns at cops who have to make snap decisions in life-or-death responses... in fact, more than a few news-camera wielders were killed in war zones when they were viewed from front-on and mistaken for terrorists aiming RPG's!!
Just imagine what would happen if the bozo had the RPG shouldered and stupidly turned toward a cop in response to a challenge!!

You do understand that the claim of that film inciting the violence through out the middle east is a lie, right? The administration knew within 24 hours that it was a premeditated terror attack but continued to lie about it.

Also, I wouldn't call free speech stupid. That may have been distasteful, yes, but the First Amendment is what allows us to freely speak about firearms and other things that may not be "politically correct" without fear of being punished. Don't you think it's hypocritical to criticize someone exercising their First Amendment rights, while you yourself are excercising your's?

I think they did very well. I would have just ran over the punk and hopefully the camera man as quickly as possible. But I got a short fuse sometimes.

We need a "sigh" emoticon for all the stupid stuff that goes on.
RPG, pointed at me? I'd pull the trigger (more than once)

Not sure what the police knew or didnt know when a flurry of calls came in. I am dissapointed with the citizens around the scene though. Perhaps the camera man wanted to document an attack plain as day? How could you know? Not one person went up to the guy to see what is what or explain how stupid this stunt was. It is sad how unresponsive the people there were. Thats how planes get hijacked with box cutters. Young boys get raped in university locker rooms. It is always for someone else to handle. Call the police. Call your mother, call your attorney, call your representative...call call. Then we wonder why government is so big? This is why government is so big. It seems we cannot look out for ourselves and need someone else to do everything for us.

Be cautious, be careful but get freaking involved people.

my response is not a direct attack to Tucson's post but a generalization of the American condition.

Hmm, this is a 3 minute 55 second video (to include the maker's narrative) that supposedly documents a police response time of over 15 minutes. I wonder what was edited out?
