Wow, I think I would contact kahr to see if they have heard of this problem before. Hopefully they can get it fixed for you. That's one of the things I like about my mk40 is the deep serrations.

i did send it to jay, he said to send it in to kahr but my ffl charges me $70 to ship out the gun, if i could only send just the slide out then i could do it myself for next to nothing but the whole firearm will cost me $70 and after having paid full price for 3 new kahrs and a good price for 1 used kahr i ain't spending anymore...

Just ask for a prepaid label. Kahr usually provides one for obvious warranty issues. I think this qualifies. But, you sometimes have to ask for it.

here is jay's response:

Good morning. Unfortunately shipping is not something covered under
warranty. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Did you just buy this new or was it used?

If new, it could go back to the dealer who can ship it cheaply to Kahr. But, I am surprised Kahr would not jump at a chance to get this obviously defective slide out of circulation.

Edited to add: Admittedly, you could just send in the slide itself. That should cost very little since it is not a serial numbered part and can be sent priority mail.

If you decide to do that, be sure to get the RMA number from Kahr so they don't lose it!

this is a new gun and the ffl said to take it up with kahr - my fault for not inspecting...

anyway i think kahr wants the whole firearm... i am really mad at myself... this one is going up on gunbroker or something...

hi y'all,
my mk9 has a slide defect... look!

the right side has shallow grooves and none at some area...

from a dealer or on line etc. How did u miss that noticeable flaw??

How old is the gun?// Is there any special letter on the trigger guard to maybe depict a blemished gun...

it's from a dealer... i guess i was dazed from looking at too many guns and saw the mk9 sitting in the nice box left side up and just swooped it up without paying attention... anyway it is a new gun no doubt but i thought kahr be more helpful on this one... i am pissed for sure now...

it new then kahr should take care ofit both ways. My suggestion is to call again and ask for IAN explain the situation and what went down and see what he says, If not to ur satisfaction then ask for a person higher up in CS Ur dealer for sure can send it back cheaper than hell and he IMO should bear some responsibility to you to help u out also. I would go to him as a last resort after trying with kahr again.
I would be frustrated in this case also. That to me is not the reply I would have expected backfrom Kahr either. They made it, they sold it, they boxed up a cosmetically sh!tty slide. TAKE IT HIGHER.. Right is right

I would count to 10 before spewing out touch anger over thephone. alittle honey goes a long way..

Too bad it is a 9mm. For the $195 you will get for an obviously defective gun, I would take it off your hands . . . but, I don't own any 9mm guns. ;)

The plastic guide rod will last nearly forever, I'd not be concerned about that in the least.

Play with your other Kahrs for awhile, I'm sure this will have a happy ending. Kahr will do the right thing, I can feel it in me bones.

naw not really andnot because of the side defect either. I just am not into the steel pocket kahrs. Have two PMJ9 and love um. Don't temp me though.

Hell put it up on this forum for sale., I just hate to see u take a loss over sumpin that either kahr or the selling dealer should send it back for you, as u have 4 other kahrs to fall back on so it is not like ur defense less.. IMO I would not buy anutter slide, no way, u can't ever just buy the lower frame to mate it up down the road. Give kahr a call again. start there first AGAIN. then u selling dealer should surely stop up to the plate... really nuttin wrong with the polymer guide rod. never read of any issue in that area....

Contact them again, tell them you are only going to send the slide. If they want the whole gun and both (?) mags, they must pick up shipping. Period! WTH? I am starting to get very disappointed with Kahr QC and CS!:59: Makes me want to reconsider keeping mine.

The dealer knew the gun had that defect and displayed it with the other side out. He is culpable here, too. And, now, he wants to wash his hands of it? Tell him you will never be doing business with him again, and that all of your friends, relatives and acquaintances will be encouraged not to shop there, as well!

Relax boys and girls.

Given the chance Kahr will take care of it, we all know that. Deep breathing. Everyone with me now, in with the good, out with the bad, in with the good, out with the bad.

Try giving me an "Or Else" situation and see what kind of results one gets. It won't be an harmonious outcome I can assure you.

Kind of like when they use the word mandatory here at work. That's a near sure thing that bawanna ain't gonna be there. Call me rebellious if you will.

well jocko... i disagree with ya on too many thing... for example... i prefer a cm9 over a pm9, a cw9 over a p9 - and no the japs are not our enemy... it's the commie chinese, still commie russies, and those anti-american arab in the me...

anyway, thanx jocko for keeping me level headed...

my ffl guy lives in another city far from me and comes here only once in a blue moon and gunshows... i bought lots of stuff from him before but he must forgotten this one... anyway i have to wait another month if i want his help... too long...

i will update very soon and hopefully new pictures of a perfectly put together gun with ss guide rod too... lol...

Good luck! I for one will be interested in what they have to say. Looking to get one myself and wondering how something like this could get through to a customer.

You missed a chance to have a 1 of a kind MK9. Consider it like a double strike coin or and upside down printed stamp. It could be worth a lot of money later. Another benefit, you would always be able to identify it, even if stolen. Thats my gun, it a "one of a kind". No one will ever have one like it. (It didn't look bad in the picture you posted).

wow, now that u mentioned it... i am glad i sent my gun in anyway cuz i enjoy shootin my guns so much the gain from it in the future ain't really worth the wait for profit collection when the time arrives (not soon enough)... lol

the pic looks much better than it really is... for a new gun w/o serrations it is almost impossible to rack the slide unless you grip it from the front of barrel...
