Can anyone tell me if your mags drop clear when released and empty, or do they drop halfway and stop?

Try this Get the gun/frame warm i.e. under arm pit or next to body as in holster carry. for about 20 min. see if that allows it to drop free on a empty mag. then let it reach room temp and see what happens.

This is what my CW9 did, Warm would drop but cool did not. In order for me to get the mag to drop free on a "cool" framed gun was to take a set of vise grips to the mag just under the feed lips on the sides about a 1/4"-1/2" down from the lips. I used approx. 5-8 lbs of pressure from the vise grips on the side walls to squeese the sides (not crush them )and it worked for me. You may need more or less than the Approx. 5-8 lbs for it to work. Before i did the Vise Grip thing, i polished up the streak mark area on the mag where it was dragging. That only worked a little.

PS... i also lightly filed the ridge area in the magwell for good measure.

My P9 did this when i first bought it, over time the problem disappeared. Ive put about 500 rounds through the gun, and now the mag makes a swift exit after pressing the release.

My K40 drops it cleanly every time... full or empty.

My K9 drops [erfect. Never heard of any all steel versions not doing so. MY PM9 does not and I really don't care either. I never carry a spare magazine and for sure if I bump the mag release it willnot go flying all over hell either.

My PM9 doesn't drop free and my PM45 does, both with empty mag.
