Hi, I just got a NIB CW 40. The mag it came with doesn't seem to seat all the way, and has some wiggle to it. I have more ordered, but they are not here yet. This is my first Kahr, didn't know if that was normal or something I should be concerned about. Anybody else experience anything like this?

Like not locking in, you can just pull it out. Or a little gap between baseplate and frame?
Did you try locking slide back and inserting the mag. Sometimes have to seat em pretty good, although I wouldn't say slam. Just firm pressure. If it's not locking it sounds like a mag release button malfunction of some sort or possibly the mag isn't cut properly to accept the release notch?

There will be a bit of a gap between the bottom of the frame and the basepad if that's what you're refering to. There will be some play when the mags are inserted. Perfectly normal.

It is a bit of a surprise the first time you see it. It is normal and the gun will work very well just like that.

Ok, thanks guys. It is just a little bit of wiggle and the gun seems to function fine. I broke it down, cleaned and oiled it reall well and put it back together, and seems to be a little tighter w/ just a very small wiggle. Now I just need to get it to the range. Any feedback on what do expect? People have told me they shoot well, I'll find out soon. Thanks.

I would expect an hour of great fun. The gun is a real nice one and it makes holes right were you think they will be. If you have not shot one before the trigger is a very smooth but might be a bit longer then you are used to. Once you get used to that it will be one of your all time favorites for sure.

just get out and shoot the darn gun, that is proof in the puddin, forget about a rattle or gap etc, If it goes bang every time as it should and u have prepped it properly as u should and u have read the manual twice as u should the gun will do its part.
screw the defense ammo stuff, break it in with fmj ammo, get the gun reliable before going to a defense round. why spend big bucks on a defense round until it is broken in properly. The gun indeed might give a few FTF or some type of crapola during the 200 round shoot out. Probably won't but if it does, pay zero attention. Just get a damn good grip on that 40 cal for you will know u are shooting a 40 calin the lighweight kahrs, and many issues with 40 cal kahrs are shooter issues. Improper grip, shooter tired and doesn't know it, etc. The CW 40 is a real shooter but both gun and shooter must mate up correctly to get reliable. One of the two cannot screw up and expect the other to override it... A gun is a tool, use it properly and take care of ur tools and 99% of the time the tool will last longer and do what it is designed to do..
