The Perfect Pocket Nine
I’ve been looking for the right pocket 9mm for quite some time and I finally found what I was looking for. I’ve shot the Kel-Tec PF9, the Ruger LC9 and a number of slightly larger guns such as the Glock 26. The CW9 is light, thin, and comfortable to shoot. I can get a three fingered grip on the gun without having to resort to a special magazine which is nice. Recoil is negligible and the muzzle flip isn’t bad. I also carry a S&W 642 and the Kahr is way easier to shoot and far more accurate. The CW9 (like all Kahrs) has a super smooth trigger pull that’s so smooth that it’s hard to believe that it’s a striker fired gun. The pull is also quite long which is what I want on a carry handgun. There’s no manual safety with is something else I like. The long trigger pull is all the safety I need. My only complaint is that the gun is not ambidextrous. I don’t need a slide lock on both sides but it’d be nice to have a mag release on both sides. I paid $360 which is a great deal for a gun of this quality. The fit and finish is so much nicer than a PF9 and I like the looks and feel of this gun better than the LC9. The LC9 wasn’t as ergonomic although it did have a decent trigger pull but not butter smooth like the Kahr. I know Kahr makes the PM9 and the CM9 but those are actually too small and the cost of the PM9 is just silly. So far I have 300 rounds through the gun with no problems. If you’re thinking about a pocket nine then I highly recommend trying the CW9. It’s simple, comfortable, reliable, and affordable.

I have to agree with you. I can't stop shooting mine. Its causing me to reload more 9mm than I normally would.

I also think it's a perfect CCW. At least for me. So much so that I have two of them. :D

the cw9 is a great all around gun... probably the most useful gun to own if you had to limit your collection of firearms to a few guns...
you can ccw, can range it all day long, can go in battle with it, bash it smash it whatever...

I think the cw9 would be a great pocket pistol! I've carried a cw40 in my pocket for 5 years now! Liked it so much I sold my pm40.
Great choice! Carry on!
its a great CC gun I carry mine in a PJ C - clip IWB holster. its light and hides very nicely.

I hear you there. I don't see how anyone could carry a CW in their pocket....

oh well, may be it's the pocket in those man-purse ???
and indeed I do a Maxpedition Fat-Boy, which I primarily used it to carry ammo to shoot IDPA or trap.. but I have never used that "pocket" though, nor EDC.

In cargo pants, not a problemo.

Carry the CW9 in a pair of TruSpec 24/7 shorts or pants and you will discover why the CW9 is considered a pocket pistol to some of us. I wear the pants every day & carry in my right front pocket every day. Works & fits quite well.

I like my CW9 so much... I bought another.
I call my CW9 the 'Double-Negative' pistol. I swore I'd never own another 9mm (besides the Browning HiPower) and I never thought I would buy a poly-framed pistol. I bought my first CW9 used as sort of a test pistol to see if I liked it (I don't do well with either small pistols or long DA-type trigger pulls) and I wound up loving the thing so much it became my EDC after about 2 weeks, and last month I bought another used CW9 as my truck gun (magazine interchangeability, etc...)
Its causing me to reload more 9mm than I normally would.
I sold all my 9mm reloading equipment and components long ago... but now I'm faced with scrounging up a set of 9mm dies, again. Maybe. I hate reloading the 9mm.
I would concur with everything the OP says... except the 'pocket' part. But, TBH, it tucks so well at my 4 O'Clock, I don't need to carry it in my pocket.

Midway has RCBS 9MM Luger carbide dies on sale now for $42.

I do have to agree that the CW9 is a great little gun. A bit big for pocket carry though. As of late I have found my Glock 19 to be my go to carry piece over the Kahr, though. Twice the capacity, and only slightly larger(slide length). Concealing it isn't hard either. Rides as comfortably as a pistol can in a FoxX hybrid holster.

Sounded like you & I need to go shopping for some cargo pants with bigger pockets.. enough for our G19.. and the CW. :D

A block19 won't fit in the pocket that I carry my CW40 in.(I tried!) How ever a Ruger SR9c will fit.:D:D:D

My wife and I love ours.:) Wish my wife would buy her own. LOL It's easier to carry than my Glock mod 36 .45.

These pics show what I mean. 6+1 in the Glock and 7+1 in the CW9
Thanks,

It surprises me that the CW9 rarely gets mentioned as a pocket pistol when it's the same size as many of the guns that do get talked about. I suppose it's because of the PM9 which is also a 9mm but smaller. The thing is that CW9 is only a little bigger than the PM9 but so much easier to handle and shoot. I think it's a more reliable gun too and the price is outstanding. I'm able to pocket carry the CW9 in almost all my shorts and pants and I'm not wearing anything special or large. Like kahrsport said, it really is a do it all gun.
