yesterday at the range I had a first . A failure to feed with a 165 grain gold dot.
A quick tap on the bottom of the mag went ahead and seated it.

It happened with my first magazine i was shooting on the second round in the magazine. My Pm 40 was cleaned as usual my last time at the range about 1 month ago. It shot flawlessly after that through about 50 rounds.

My PM has been flawless in function since break-in a few years ago with all types of ammo.

In fact I have never had a gold dot failure in any of my carry guns ever.

I am not overly concerned yet, may be time for a spring change in a magazine?

what does everyone think? anybody else have any gold dot failures?

When was the last time you replaced your recoil spring assembly?

one failure could be alot of things. If it was parts failure, etc, it should duplicate things, so I am just gonna chalk it up to shooter "sumpin". Hell that round itself could have bene a tad out of spec even. who the hell knows.

IO would indeed put a new recoil assembly in thegun, that seems to help alot.

I also even though u have nevert had an issue before check ur magazine to see if by chance that follower could be grabbing a tad on the mag release button. There is a thread talkingabout it on the kahr tech section under PROPPER PREPPING OF UR KAHR. u stated it was at round two and thiat to me is a possable indication of a follower related thng. again one time deal here is SH!T happens...do check the follower thing out though, it might surprise u..and at the best,u have eliminated tha tissue if it ever pops its hea dup again...

IMO u had no issue, but YMMV..

Yeah, I have been wondering about when to replace recoil springs. I probably have over 1200 rounds through it.

I will check the follower too.

thanks

Pretty good mileage, but you are indeed due. ;)
