Carried the CW45 for the first time yesterday. It was extremely comfortable. There were times where I almost forgot it was there. I carried it for approximately 7 hours in a Remora IWB holster. Lighter and thinner than my Glock. The only complaint is that I wish I had a flush fitting mag for it. All in all , great for concealed carry.

A flush fit mag is a definite possibility. Check out the extensive flush fit mag thread on this forum.

I took it out last week and put 218 rounds through it. 200 FMJ and 18 self defense ammo. Only one hicup. Had one round fail to fully go into battery. Probably had about 180 rounds through it by then so it was getting kinda dirty. I was still pretty impressed.;)

Refresh my memory Jerry. Whats the status on the PM45? Did it get sent back?

ive been corresponding with gb greg....used his fixes....

last outing was today, 3 times the slide locked back with round in mag. didnt do it the first 210 rounds, then today with steel cased Tul it happened.

the malfunctions are fewer in between than in the start....271 rounds total now, not ready to call it good nor toss in the towel.

I save the russian ammo for russian guns.

i usually do to, when my american money can buy american ammo.

My K9 does not like tul ammo. I don't get lock backs but i do get malfunctions that I never get with american brandammo. Once I am outta that stuff, it will be my last. Just sayin

Sometimes I question my sanity even. here I go out and buy a very expensive and high quality handgun and thenI try to find sh!t ammo to shoot out of it. Guess I will never really learn.:19:

My PM9 also handles Russian ammo very well, I just find it dirtier than most.
Maybe its just my head playing tricks on me.

i hear that a lot about "dirty ammo", like they wouldnt clean their gun after shooting if the ammo wasnt as dirty?

if i shoot 100 rounds i clean my gun. if i shoot 10 rounds i clean my gun. but thats just me.

Wait a minute - flush fitting mags for the CW45 that hold 7 rounds?

Gimme!

Yea, and it is easier on the thumb to get 7 in the "hybrids"' than 6 in the factory mag.

Used the Metalform 7-round officers mags with Wilson springs and followers.

I saw the other thread, it doesn't lock back on the last round, correct? I think I'd pass on that.

Some folks report that combo (Metalform tube and Wilson kit) will lock the slide back: http://kahrtalk.com/showpost.php?p=158049&postcount=279
There are also some other combos that people reported as working and locking the slide back.
My personal experience is with Kahr parts in various Officer/Compact size mags and with Mecgar's MGCO4506 magazine. These hold six rounds, feed reliably, and lock the slide back.

Greg

Worth a try then. How much and where do I get one?

I carry my P45 covert daily along with my P380. Love them both. Instead of the flush fit 7 rounders, I went covert with mine and use the PM45 5 round mag as the first followed by a couple 6 round P45 mags.

I suppose I could part with one, but you gotta build them.

You need one of these:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/644857/metalform-magazine-1911-officer-7-round-steel-blue-flat-follower-welded-base?cm_vc=wishList

And one of these:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/171154/wilson-combat-magazine-follower-and-spring-1911-8-round-government-7-round-officer-45-acp-colt-metalform-magazine?cm_vc=wishList

You will need to file or sand a wee bit off the very top of the lips of the mags or they will rub on the slide. A few strokes is all it takes, and you can touch it up with a black sharpie.

Hey Joco, yes, this is something I am interested in doing also. I was thinking of machining a follower so it would be stronger and a bit shorter to fit another round (if possible). But if it is shorter, it may bind up easier and not feed right, so there would be some work to do to be sure that wouldn't happen.

If anyone starts to consider making them and selling them, PM me for a price. I'd be interested (CW 45 or P9).

JohnR

The price would be one dollar less than Kahr's 7 round mag, no warranty. :D
