p380 serial number

I bought a "new" p380 from a dealer. The serial# is RB 64xx. Reading the archives about the RB series frame problems I wonder if I'm hosed? Haven't shot it yet but the baptism is tomorrow

Mine is RB30**, havent had any frame issues. You probably wont have any issues either. Its a great gun when shot properly. Good luck

Took the gun out and shot a litttle under 200 rounds including freedom munitions, umc, buffalo bore, double tap, and hornaday. Had three or four fte. The recoil spring guide rod at one point stuck out 3/8" beyond the front of the slide, and then seemed to return to its normal flush position. Something was binding. The springs were properly placed. When I cleaned the gun I had the same binding problem when I reassembled the gun but I was able to get the rod back in its normal position. Also my slide has a lot of play in it. I can rock the slide side to side and if I pull the trigger the cam jacks up the slide off the frame until the striker releases. My pm9 is tight as tight as a tick. I am unable to keep the sight perfectly still as the striker releases lik I can with the pm9. Is this stuff normal for a p380 or should I be calling c/s?

none of these happen to my 380..my SN is RC***
i'm sure the experts here can assist you.....the slide coming off the frame doesn't sound good.
