I'm in the process of trying to determine which P380 I want and came across these sights.

http://www.kahr.com/Sights/Kahr-P380-XS-Big-Dot-Night-Sights.asp

Anybody have them? What do you think of them? Better/worse than standard night sights?

I don't think there's a model that would include these Big Dot sights, so if they're better than standard night sights, I'd get the regular P380 and put these on. Otherwise, I'd get the model with factory night sights.

Thanks!

I dont have the big dots on my CM yet, but as soon as my slide comes back from coating, Im putting them on! Ive heard great things about how that front sight just grabs the eyes and lets the back fall into place naturally for super fast target acquisition. I just got my p380 in a couple days ago, and will be putting the big dots on it as well! I know I didnt give any personal experience with em, but I hope I helped at least a little.

At lease it's one person voting FOR them! :)

Ok, now I see that the Big Dot sights have tritium only in the front sight and just a line in the center of the rear sight.

Now I'm wondering if it would be better to get the model with the factory sights which would have tritium in the rear and then buy the Big Dot separately for the front sight?

My P380 came with the big dot sights. Having just the tritium in the front sight was fine by me, but I will say that I have switched them to the regular trijicon night sights. I shot fine with them, but it was the first time using the big dots sights system and I have had years of experience with the original three dot system. I guess I could have tried harder to like them, but it didn't happen.
Worse comes to worse, you could sell them on here like I did and get a set of regular tritium sights, if it doesn't work for you.
I know others here swear by them.

really the back tritium site is not needed with the bog dots. that sight is gonna grab ur eyueballs first over everything else, and the back site will just fall in place perfectly. . Not needed IMO. . In a SHTF situation ur gonna be dame lucky if u even see the front sight, guaratnee u, u won't be lining up the back sight. Just my two cents..

Did you special order your P380 to get it to come with?

This is why I'm thinking of getting the model with the regular sights to see how they work, then perhaps go to the Big Dot down the road.

Thanks!

I had them added to my P380 after purchase. I'm not sure I would do it again, they are big and really cover the paper target more than I would like. On the otherhand, they are on my carry gun and when shooting rapid fire they are really easy to see and keep in the center of the target mass.

As for me I bought the P380 used from a forum member and they were on it when I got it. It's a DLC model if that makes a difference. I believe he had them put on after purchase, but I'm not sure. I purchased the trijicon sights and put them on myself. As I said, it's just what I'm used to, no knock on the big dots.

I had the big dot sights on a Glock 9mm. I liked them.

However, I bought a P380 with the night sights. They are great for daylight shooting, and glowwww at night. I love these standard Kahr night sights.

Visually, I find that the two-post rear sight and the single post front sight is so standard, it's easier to align these for quick shooting. But, that's me.

Howdy:

I have XS Sights on my P380 and PM9. The P380 "wears" the Std Dot up front whereas my PM 9 "wears" the Big Dot up front as does my Glock 19 Gen4. You might ask why the Std rather than Big Dot on my P380? Reason, I just didn't like the looks of a Big Dot viewed photo in this Forum installed on the P380. Yes, I know bigger is better but as a NRA Pistol Instructor, I shoot the P380 with the Std Dot as well as my 23,000+ rounds sent downrange with my PM9 Big Dot.
