Being a Kahr forum you’re going to get biased results.
Hold and fire both (range rentals)...then decide..:)

The Nano is a pretty attractive option, the first thing I would look into is find a forum and see if people are saying its been reliable for them, but being such a new firearm the verdict might still be out there. The magazine articles I have seen have all said it was reliable for them.

The Nano is also a bit larger than the CM9, longer, taller, and a bit heavier, but the same width. The difference was noticeable when I handled one. I'd recommend going to a gun store and asking if you can try the two guns out in a pocket holster. (thell probably have a Desantis or Galco in the store, but I personally don't like them) When you go to the store, wear a pair of pants that have average sized pockets for your wardrobe. But I rarely pocket carry, someone who does can give you better advice

P.S. - The Nano does not have a slide stop lever, I wouldnt consider that a deal breaker but might be something to consider

think the Rohrbaugh R9 has a slide stop either, IMO really not needed. Nice when they work as designed but as u know from this forum, we have had slide stop issues due to shooters thumb etc. How would that scenario fit into a
SHTF situation. If it ain't there u can't fokk it up. If my kahrs never had one, It would bother me nadda If I can't do it in 7 shots, more than likely I am dead. Just sayin

just read in the Indianapolis Start today where an afgan veteran was working nights in a liquor store, and carried his glock under his shirt. a BG (african american) came in to rob the place and he ended up giveing the BG two double taps. Yes when the police got there he was dead on arrival. Indeed justice served. The persecutor cleared him of any charges..

P.S. - The Nano does not have a slide stop lever, I wouldnt consider that a deal breaker but might be something to considerMy experience with the Nano is from about a year ago. I bought one and put close to 2000 rounds through it. I liked it, but found it would occasionally (odd intervals: maybe after 20 or so rounds then perhaps between 200 to 300 rounds) jam because of a fired casing left in the chamber with the next round pushed up against it. At the time, I wasn't the only person to have this type of failure (http://berettaforum.net/vb/showthread.php?t=80533). Beretta believed(s) it is ammo related and Massad Ayoob bought into that line: (http://fmgpublications.ipaperus.com/FMGPublications/GUNS/GUNS0812/?Page=50). Me?...I've shot much, much more of the ammo I was using with the Nano in my CW9, KT P11, KT PF9, DB9, Glock 27 (with either a G26 top end or a LW 40-9 conversion barrel installed), S&W 3913, and S&W Shield (not to mention my service size 9mms) without ever experiencing a similar failure. Regardless of what causes it, without being able to lock the slide back, this stoppage is particularly hard to clear because the magazine is difficult to remove with the top round partially fed and jammed against the feed way and slide. You have to manipulate/hold the slide back while you press/hold the magazine latch in as you attempt to pull the magazine free. Once that's done, you can deal with the empty casing in the chamber.
If the OP doesn't want to go with one of Kahr's 9mm pistols, I'd suggest looking at S&W's Shield

Greg

Get the CM9. Beautiful gun. Very successful since its release, seeing as how it is essentially a PM9 with mostly cosmetic changes to reduce the price, and the PM9 was already a proven and solid performer. We have a club here called the Big Grin Club, or officially the CM9 Owners Club. The club logo is a big wide grin smily because we are so delighted with our pistols that we can't get that grin off our faces!

I looked at both and ended up going with a CM 9. The Nano is a bit too chunky for pocket carry, which was the biggest issue I had with it frankly. The lower price (at Cabela's) for the Kahr offset the fact I'd need to buy a spare mag.

The CM9 is a very reliable weapon and I would highly recommend it. It is also small enough for pocket carry.

the cm9 would've been my firts kahr instead of the cw9... at first i thought i was too small and now looking back after 4 kahr, it is small and useful... had i thought about the 2nd part it would've been my first kahr instead of 3rd in line...
it is a wonderful pocket gun... and fun range gun with the pearce grip...

HAD THEY MADE THE CM9 WHEN i BOUGHT MY pmj9, i WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT. to me basicaly the same damn gun without some bells and whistles and for pocket carry is just perfect. the cm9 is a gun u can shoot until the cows come home. I honestly believe u cannot shoot out any kahr.Theyare built like a tank

Of the two I prefer the CM9. The bore axis of the Nano is much higher and that has an adverse effect on felt recoil and recovery. The Nano seems top heavy and doesn't balance as well as the kahr. The Kahr has a much better trigger. The Nano isn't a bad gun, but it just isn't as good as a Kahr. Those are only my opinions and yours might differ. Try them both.

Muggs: I have read that to in other posts. Maybe kahrs offset feed ramp patent prefents the gun makers from copying it to...

Well, my shooting buddy is purchasing a Caracal pistol, and it has an extremely low bore axis - lower than a Kahr. In videos, the 9mm pistol shows so little mussle rise that it looks like a 22 going off. I haven't seen his yet to know how they do it. Interesting gun, though.

CM9 all the way. It's lighter and the Kahr trigger is smooth. The beretta is nice though.
