Hi Guys,

Need a price check on a K9 as I'm fairly new to the game. It's an older carbon steel model, all black with rubber grips. Finish is good except for a few light scratches. It has 2200 rounds through it, a new factory recoil spring and striker spring, 6 7rnd mags and a basic leather iwb holster.

What would it go for here on the forum? Any other thoughts on price?

Thanks and God bless,

Adam

IMHO, the K9 has a solid retail price of $300 to $500, depending on several factors. The older carbon steel K9s fall into the lower region. Six mags, four extra, are worth around $80. Therefore I'd say anything under $400 is a good deal. Pay no more than $450.

personally I would pass on the carbon steelj, nothing really wrong with them but uttin really great about um either.... there are alot of K9 stainless out there, just keep looking. less maintenance. I like the scalloping on the stainless versions also

I like the scalloping on the stainless versions also. also the old carbon versions are also the older obsolete style dovetails, and some of the new sights being made today will not fit. I. I'm with Jocko, why settle for carbon steel and the extra maintenance when you can get the stainless guns in the same price range? Steve

i have a carbon steel k9, it's heavier than the ss one... the trigger pull is longer than the ss... i would take jocko's advice as a good one...

i would think though kahrsport that if he gets a police version of the K9 even in stainless it will have the same long nypd trigger system as urs does. Mine does and quite franly I shoot it better thanmy PMJ9. Its smoother than water rolling off of glass, IMO.

yes my carbon steel trigger is longer than the ss k9 one i have shot, it feels smoother - yes, but i still prefer the shorter trigger myself... which is why i plan to get a ss k9 blk new very soon here and sell my cs k9... puttin off the p380 for now...

but for the op... ol jocko is smart when it comes to the kahr stuff so take note and pull some triggers before you commit... gl

The only possible advantage to the original carbon steel K9 that I can think of is that they were rated for +P+ ammo. But I'd still rather have the stainless version because I don't use +P+ in any of my guns anyway.

thinkj about that though +P+, what has changed in the new K9???NUTTIN. if anything maybe even a stronger gun, barrels haven't changed. My opinion is that kahr just dropped the +P+ hype due to "why push it". +P+ is an unknown round by SAAMI standards. No macho stuff in saying +P+, Most never shoot it and I have no doubt any kahr today will shoot +P+ ammo, if u can handle it

IMO all ad hype from the git go..

Where are you guys finding these k9 models for $300-$500? I've been kind of interested in getting a SS version of my plastic fantastic but can't bare to part with that much money so this thread jumped out at me. Thanks for any guidance that helps in cheap endeavor.
