I noticed that my front sight on my cw9 is cracked. However, I also noticed the back part of the sight does not completely cover the sight pin hole. The back part of the sight is slightly positioned to the right, exposing the plastic pin which is pinned to the slide. I took a measurement on the center of the white dot, and it seemed to be centered. Does this mean the pin hole is off? I think the pin hole is just a few millimeters off from the center. Am I just being too picky? I would like to replace the front sight with night sights. Being a defensive pistol, I really can't see how this would affect accuracy. What do you all think?

I think we need a good clear, close up picture of the front sight and probably another picture of your sight picture, just to be sure. ;)

You can see that the sight does not line up with the pin hole. But the white dot is centered when I measured it. You can also see a crack on the left side. There is one on the right side as well.

Mine is fine. I just looked at it. Maybe yours dropped on the floor and hit the front site.

If you haven't dropped it and it is under warranty, Id send the pic to Kahr and tell them to replace it with the front night sight for your time. It is metal, not plastic like the stock one.

As the sight is centered, are you positive that's the hole for the pin? It looks like either melted plastic or adhesive to me.
If it isn't the hole, either ask Kahr for a replacement front sight or pony up for some night sights.
If that is the hole, then Kahr should replace that slide.

Greg

Holy cow. You made a great point. I was able to scrape the blemish/melted plastic off the slide. :D. Thank goodness the pin holes are centered. Now I can get the front sights replaced with trijicon without the worry. This forum rocks. This is the reason I joined this forum because I knew I could rely on getting some good inputs. Thank you again Greg.
