I know it's NOT for everyone, but I've carried inside the pants with a SmartCarry for over 10 years.

Cool weather's not here yet, so I can't use a full shoulder rig.

But I would like to utilize the "shoulder holster" concept.

This week I've been using my old, worn SmartCarry system as a quasi-shoulder system but just strapping it across my chest with the Kahr CM9 under my arm.

No, it's not perfect. No, it's not the full, "ActiveProGear" rig. No, it doesn't feel tight and restrictive.

Yes, it's comfortable and it works.

Unless one has to button their top button or wear a tie, it might be an alternative carry system.

And, Woolrich, makes long-sleeve shirts with two fake buttons on the front with magnets in them. That shirt really works. I bought two of them.

u outta look at the 5.`11 hoslter T-shirt. in the NRA store. Nice set up. would workperfecrt undr ur shirt to and no bullt what so ever. Its spandex so makes us fat asses look semi normal. It ain't a fast draw area under any shirt or shweat shirt but it is also there on ur body 24/7.

Pocket on both sides so righty or lefty, it s OK and it is padded by the body side, so u never feel a gun there. I hae texted my sirt out and it holds my PMJ9 with ease and 36 condoms on the other side. In case I getlost and end up at Key West. Just sayin

Might just be me, but it seems that in the last few years we have seen more and more of clothing desinged for the person who wants to carry and not be suspicious..

Thanks, but I have looked at it and really can't justify the additional expense since my rig is working A-OK.

Shoulder holster weather will get here within a month or two. :o

That just drapes around your upper body sort of a reverse gunslinger low ride rig? Nothing over your shoulder, just the one strap around your middle?

I can almost see that working under my uniform shirt.

I have a 511 shirt but seldom wear it, they are slightly puffy and a little warm for me being the hot blooded American that I am.

Yep, that's how it works.

Wore under one of those Charlie Sheen shirts last night when we had our date night.

Worked fine, and didn't need adjusting like I was wearing a bra or something.

I have a ConcealmentT, left hand for a small gun. It carries the gun all the way around to the side, under my arm. For me, this doesn't work because my upper body is middle aged chunky and I find it difficult to reach that far. Not impossible, but I would prefer that my gun ride a little more forward. I have a belly band that I could customize gun placement with. I also have a SmartCarry and had never thought of using it that way. So, thank you doc540! :yo:

doc540, I found a less expensive way to solve the button issue. I shop for Western style shirts with snaps and buy them on sale at great prices. You can open several of those snaps in a . . . snap! :D Doesn't harm the snaps or the shirt.

I have a Smart-Carry and a T with the underarm pocket. The T works fine for small, light guns like Kahrs, [I used it a couple of times for my PM45] but is very hot for any kind of warm weather. Also, as mentioned, it's hard to get to under a shirt. As for the SC, I've only used it a few times, and it doesn't work that well for my slender build.

That was the first thing I thought too when he mentioned "puffy". LOL, that was a good episode.

I have been thinking for about 6 years to take the top 2-3 buttons off of a dress shirt, them "dummy sew" them to the button holes.... then use iron on velcro strips under the button locations. After 6 years of thinking, I guess I should consider doing. Still haven't bought my scoobie-doo/under-roo holster system yet, so no rush.

There are some shirts for CCW that do that with the bottom front buttons. Make it easier to get to your gun if the shirt is tucked in over the rig.

Doc,

My upper body is similar to yours and I just tried my SmartCarry this way. It works! It doesn't have to be real tight because there is a thinner place just below my chest, and my belly expands below there to keep the holster in place. My CM9 seems to ride very comfortably this way. I position it higher than you do, with the end of the grip frame hiding below my man-boob for no printing under a jacket or shirt. (Is this sort of a men's FlashBang? :p) I like it better than the T-shirt holster I have because the gun sits much further forward where it is easier to get at. Still not a quick draw for me, but that is often a price for deep concealment.

You know, I have spent all this money on holsters that fit on the belt, both IWB and OWB. On warmer days, I have to wear a loose, usually untucked shirt to hide them and printing is always a possibility. I think this method will work great with a T-shirt underneath a somewhat loose fitting shirt for warm days, tucked in and looking neat. I like to use Western shirts with snaps for quick access. For colder days, I can just throw a jacket over it. (I like to wear a leather jacket with just a T-shirt underneath like Fonzie. When it's not too cold, it is comfortable in or out of doors.)

Thanks for the tip! My hat's off to ya! :yo:
