Just picked up my first Kahr pistol, PM9 with a prefix of VA for the serial number. Is this a rock solid pistol or should I have done my homework first? Are there any issues I should be aware of. Thanks for you comments.

I HAVE A pm9 IN THAT SERIAL NUMBER RANGE. UR va WAS MADE AROUND 02 AND IF THE SERIAL # IS va 00003- TO 9999 IT WAS involved in a barrel recall. Kahr never replaced the barrels but they did do a polish job on the feed ramp for all that was sent back, Most owners never sent theirs back for it was working fine. so I am gonna say, shoot the gun a sIt is probalby fine and possably was even sent back or the owner did the polish job himsef. I did that to mine although it was perfect before I even did it. U have the ol blunt nose version which IMO is the best of the best. I have two of them both are perfect to. It is a rock solid pistol, no doubt in my mind. Also kahr has no records of the serialnumber guns that was sent back as for most they only sent back the barrel.
What u can do if u so desire, as u bought this gun used, so u don'tknow how many rounds have been throguh it, I would go to wolffs gunsprings.com and order a 3 pak of factory kahr PM9 recoil springs (18#) and have um around when needed. U can just buy the outter spring from wolffs and that is all u need to replace anyways.
U probably did Not get a manual, so I would go to the kahr webb site and download their maNual; There are some great must do tips there for you, and also go to the kahr tech section here and hit on the
kahr lube chart.
propper preppng of ur new kahr
new kahr member site \\
all 3 of them will get u ready to give the gun a work out
Take a half hour and read all u can on this fourm, before going out with the gun.
That is one really nice kahr and welcome to the forum and to the kahr blunt nose PMJ9 club to...

Hi, I'm Sierrajb, and I'm a PM9-aholic.
Jocko gave some of the best advice on the web. In fact, not only is the Kahr PM9 the best choice you could have made, this forum is the BEST (in my opinion). I'm assuming you are new to both. Either way, welcome to the best of both worlds.

From a new CM9 (PM9 'lil brother) owner, all I can say is you're going to love the PM9. By following jocko's prep & lube instructions, my CM9 has been flawless, and has become my 24/7 CC partner! Enjoy! :D
