I've been working on shooting drills a LOT here lately, trying to improve accuracy when timed/put under stress.

Here are several links to good drills below. Feel free to add more.

I do practice the "fat guy runnin away drill".

Fire one shot at target, turn and start runnin away shooting over either my right or left shoulder.

Seriously though, it's good to see that someone does the types of drills you describe.

most shooters can go to the range, put a paper target out at 5-10 yards, pick up their gun, and blow the "X" out of the center. That's what they practice, because that's what is easy and they "look good" to the other folks in neighboring lanes.

Once you put stress on a person by having them draw from concealed holster, putting them under time, yelling at them, etc, then things change. Big time. That's what needs to be practiced.

I'm sure I can't hit those links from work.

Would suggest that some shooting with the weak hand only
as being a nice addition to standard shooting practice.

Your strong hand may not always be in working order.

definitely. several of these drills have strings using SHO (strong hand only) or WHO (weak hand only)

Great, thanks for the links.
For a lot of folks having access to a good place/facility to train can be difficult. We are lucky, my husband"s Dad has 80 acres of hunting property in northern Michigan.

Nice.
I had a two day course, outdoors on private property, with Andy Stanford.
We had to run and do push ups before shooting to simulate an adrenalin dump.
Good stuff.

yes that's very true. very few public ranges or gun clubs will let you draw from holster.

you can still modify many of these for use at a public range though.
