Okay, I posted some time back that I was having trouble with the CM9 magazine release button rusting due to close contact with my body. I also contacted Kahr Customer Service about this, asking if there was a stainless one. There was not, but they sent me a new replacement with no charge.

I received several good suggestions from you kind folks and promised to report back on what I did. I treated the button with a rust killer, let it dry, then heated with a hair dryer and applied Froglube. I'm a belt and suspenders kind of guy, so I also went to Tandys and got a nice piece of waste leather, trimmed it, took it to a shoe shop, and had it sewn on the skin side of my IWB leather holster as a sweat shield. The shield is extended to protect the whole handle area where the button resides.

Have carried a lot on hot, sweaty days now, and no problem. A little trouble, a little expense, but I won't have a rusty part on my favorite CCW. I still think the part should be made of stainless or something that won't rust or corrode with exposure.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I hope this helps someone else : )
