I'm up for any surprise. I'm partial to shiny stuff with large bores if that helps.

We have our local show this weekend but I'm sure it won't hold a candle to yours. I enjoy it though.

I wish I could make it to the FW show. Other than reloading stuff, there's really nothing on my radar except a couple of rifles, and I can't spend the money right now anyway:(

That's hilarious. I have most of the useful, regular stuff I need. Anything truly a thing of beauty, shotgun or pistol for me. But, just pay for it. I'll pick it up myself so we don't have any straw buyer stuff going on. Oh, and thanks a bunch!

Bawanna, are the WAC shows any fun? I've always been curious, but never stopped into one.

Our local show is this weekend as well. All im lookin for right now (aka all I can afford right now) are some more mags for the AR I lost in the boating accident.

I like them. Puyallup is the real WAC show and its much larger. I seldom go down there and don't like to go unless I have a good pile of money which is why I rarely go.

I seldom miss Monroe. A lot of the same table holders every month but theres usually a few new or different ones. After awhile you get to know them and know who will deal and who won't.

Most like any gunshow pray on the unknowing or uninformed and prices are high. They usually get reasonable quickly for those that go all the time.

Mostly I look for older and different stuff.

Come on over sometime and check it out.

I will do that. Not tomorrow, maybe the next one. It looks like November 3 & 4.

These gun shows around here never cease to amaze me. I usually spend more time than money just taking it all in, and I never leave empty-handed. Whether I buy something or not, I always learn something and have fun.

Since I'm still a Rookie in many ways, I like to take my best buddy (wise, seasoned gunslinger with lots of gun savvy) who can help me sort through it all and answer any gun question I may have. I'll let you know how it goes.

....by the way, I'll leave all your stuff from your Wish List at the Will Call desk.

I'll be at the Fort Worth show on Sunday afternoon. I have commitments until then. I am interested in what AR15 and AK pricing have done since the Goof-ball-in-Chief stood in front of America at the debate and annouced that he expects to put in his own Assault rifle ban as part of his second term...

I used to live in Fort Worth within strolling distance of the Center where the Gun Shows were held and I went to them all. I was always stunned by the variety and availablility of products sold. The stack of briefcase guns is a good example....I just went to a Florida gun show and saw nothing of the sort.

I don't even think jlottmc and I have been to that gun show before. We have to the one in Mesquite and the crappy one in Frisco.

I'd like a Ruger SR9c or Ruger SR40c please.....

Well, the gun show was GREAT! Actually, we expected to see BOTH sides of the convention center filled like last time, but only one side was open for the gun show. The other side was a stupid "Bird Show."

Had to leave after only 3 hours there, but it was enough to make my head spin, my mouth drool, and my wallet pucker. May go back again tomorrow after church.

Last time I checked, all your ammo, guns, and goodies you asked for were still right there waiting for you to pick them up. I told them you'd be there soon.

well..... the Mesquite show didn't pan out very good 3-4 months ago. Four of us from my neck of the woods piled into the truck and headed to Mesquite to make a day of it for the "big show" (as advertised in the National Prfleman Magazine), and after about 100 mile drive found the convention center all boarded up. Called the C of C and was told that someone had recently bought the building and the gun show had been canceled. So, we stopped by that gun shop near Terrel (about 10 miles South of I-20...way out in the sticks) and found about everything we were looking for.

Where's the Mesquite show going to be held now?

The last show in February was my first trip there. As a "yankee from jersey" I was in awe! I moved in a cattle-like motion up and down every aisle and was amazed at how many folks were filling out purchase paperwork for what I felt were guns I could buy for the same or less $$ any day of the week! I thought the real deals were on accessories, ammo, knives, holsters, belts and any private sellers with their own used firearms for sale. The assortment of guns on display was mind-boggling. The snacks and food was cool. The whole experience was worth it and everyone should do it at least once in their lifetime.
Geeze, I feel like one of those magazine guys writing, huhn?

Gun shows are pretty cool if your looking for that off the wall piece, acccessories or ammo. As far as most gun prices go I can get better deals at the local GS's. Some of the prices there asking for Mosin's and SKS's are way out of line with the local shops. I bought a pristine CZ82 at one of the local shops for $200 and they wanted $300 for the same exact pistol that was not in nearly as good of condition. I know I can get AR's and AK's and Mini14's cheaper then what they're asking. It's fun to look around to see what is what, but the last show I went to I only bought a few boxes of 9x18 Makarov's and a few stripper clips for the SKS and the Mosin Nagant.

Just got back from our gunshow. Almost needed a shopping cart. I came home empty but my son got a Springfield XDS, even deaf I managed to whittle the guy some, got an extra mag with the extension.
Got my aunt her 638, so that's in the bag.

Several things got me fired up and I wanted but had to leave em behind.

Held a Range Officer, it was 799, actually saw 2 Ruger SR 1911's first I've seen any anywhere and they were both 799 on different tables.

Saw what the guy claimed was a M1D Garand but it didn't look like no M1D to me. Stock was sporterized and it had a side mounted scope but while nice in some respects it was hacked in others. He was only asking 700 so the deal might have been there but not for me.

Anyhow it was fun, I feel like dog dung, I'm gonna hit the recliner for a spell, maybe the boy will let me fondle his XDS for a little while.

I helped sell two CW Kahrs at the same table where we got the XDS too. I should get a commission check ya know?

The last time we went it was over where they hold the Mesquite rodeo, used to be over off I20 or 30, maybe 635 but it's been so long since we've been.

Here is the list I found...http://www.gunshowminute.com/gunshows/texas/

I do, but you know I feel in love with the SR9c when I first shot it and I normally don't like a 9...

I went to the Suncoast gun show here in Tampa yesterday.
Pretty disappointing really.
Lots of Jennings and Highpoints.
Looked more like a swap meet to me.
I bought nothing and that's unusual.

My HK45C is getting new NS and a DOA (Light LEM) conversion.
Plus my threaded tactical barrel and multiple extended tactical mags have arrived.
So I guess I've already done my shopping.

Taking Halloween week off for vacation.
Ordered a bunch of ammo.
I'm going to have Range Week here in Tampa!

Thinking up some shoot offs...

HK P2000 357 vs Sig P239 357
HK P30 40 vs Glock G27

jdlott74, that's a GREAT link you provided. Thanks! It covers the entire state of Texas, while my link only covered the two biggies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Yes, it's at the Mesquite Rodeo just off I-635, which is a loop that connects I-30 and I-20. Here's that link in case you need it.

Barth, those are some serious looking guns, bro! Let us know if you do that range comparison. Maybe through some of that on YouTube for those of us that like Lights, Camera, and Action!

I went to the biggest local area gun show awhile back and I wasn't impressed with the prices or the availability of guns I wanted to see. $8 apiece and the cost of a 90 mile round trip - not worth it, IMO. Packing my portable electric scooter in the car, unpacking and setting it up for use, and then having to keep asking the oblivious morons blocking every isle to move and let me through. I think I would enjoy a trip to Las Vegas and the Shot Show sometime, but I am done with regular gun shows.

Seeing pictures and talking to coworkers here that have been to SHOT, I'd say you might want to put a cow catcher on the front of your scooter.

I'd truly love to get to SHOT or an NRA show again someday, meet Johnh and some of the Kahr folks, Jody and Justin and heck all of them and get to see a lot of other players we only read or her about.

That would be way cool.

I went to an NRA show years ago here in Seattle and it was mind boggling. I had such a good time.

I'm sure that's been the case with the shows you've been to, JFootin. Sorry to hear that. However, at the Ft. Worth Gun Show I saw several people (men and women) in similar scooters having no problem getting through the crowds. That may be because the aisles were so wide and the place was so huge that the crowd didn't seem that hard to manage. Living close to these shows (10-15 minutes) is also a big help, so if you feel the need to come to Texas, there's plenty of room for you! I'll make sure of it!

Yea, Mr. B, I would go to a NRA show. I think I need to get one of those pressurized can type disposable boat horns. All I have on my scooter is a tiny metal bell actuated by my thumb. It is such a little ding, ding, ding, it gets zero attention no matter how many times I do it.

Use to be a pizza joint we hung out in around 72 or 73 when that came out. We must have played that song over and over 100 times one night. Next time we were there and it was often, they had removed it from the juke box. Not taste for good music I guess.
