I know, I know, apples and oranges!
However!
I am having a difficult time deciding which pistol to use as an EDC gun.
I traded away a gen 3 glock 19 for a Kahr PM9 black diamond edition.
I love the PM9 for its size, multiple carry possibilities, firepower, and just plain out good looks and ease of carry.
I love the Glock 19 for capacity, comfort of carry(crazy I know), muscle memory(glocker for many years) durability and rust resistance along with its accuracy(sight radius) and a bit more muzzle velocity.
My only dislike/concern is that the PM9 when worn in a Sto-N-Go by galco on the belt, it digs into my hip bone when seated but the glock does not, probably due to its softer edges.
I don't really want a crossbreed for such a small gun...
I am TORN, on keeping the PM9 or getting the 19 back.......
TALK SOME SENSE INTO ME(either way)

The 19 is a great gun and I'd get it back. BUT the PM9 is a every where anytime gun you should never have to leave home.
I think you just need to explore other carry options. There's a ton of good carry holsters and there has to be something that would work perfectly for you.
Several here carry PM's in their pocket, you can't do that with the Glock.
Like you yourself said...apples and oranges.
The only thing both pistols have in common is the caliber.
Both are great pistols. Keep the PM9 and buy a G19, you will enjoy both. ;)
The G19 is a more "enjoyable" range gun.

I was one of the unlucky people who bought a late-model Gen3 G19 and experienced constant brass-to-the-face ejection. I had to fight with Glock, send the gun back-n-forth a few times, and finally get it replaced with a new Gen4. It was better, but still had weak and sloppy ejection. I eventually cut my losses and sold it for a different brand. So needless to say, I'm probably not the best person to give an opinion on a Glock.
As for the PM9: I learned (for me personally) that weight makes a HUGE difference in daily-carry comfort. If a gun is too heavy or too bulky I simply won't carry it consistently. Check the weight difference between a loaded PM9 vs. a loaded G19. Big difference. Not to mention over-all size and thickness. I can carry my CM9 all day under the lightest T-shirt and shorts with no problem.
Those are just my two cents. The gun I replaced my Glock with (Walther PPQ) is very similar in size and weight to a G19, but I carry my Kahr.

It's almost as if you have made your mind up - if you were leaning toward the Glock you would have posted this question on Glocktalk ;)
I have a G23 (with the 357 sig barrel) - so essentially the same size. I have an IWB Comp-Tac Minotaur that basically makes the G23 comfortable to carry. But my CM9 in my DeSantis IWB holster is certainly smaller and more comfortable.
So here's my rule (not quite sure about the logic behind it). If I know I'm going into a place where I want some really good fire power ... I take the Glock. If, on the other hand, I'm not "too concerned", I'll carry the CM9 with an extra mag. If I'm only wearing a t-shirt and it will be harder to conceal the Glock, then of course the CM9.
Not sure if that is going to help or not!

Everybody's got a glock. Be different.

Those apples and oranges mixed together IMO = Glock 26 for the win!!!
My CM9 on top of my G26... If you are a Glocker you know about using larger mags in the 26 which can make it the same size/cap as the 19.

have you tried appendix carry? I carry either a Glock 19 of a Kahr K9 there all day every day and it is very comfortable. I have a PM9 as well and at the appendix carry position I don't even know its there. Holsters are inexpensive, you might want to give it a try. Try wearing it around the house (unloaded if you have not carried in that manner before) all day and see how it feels. Just remember to KEEP YOUR FINGER out of the trigger guard upon reholstering.

depends on your attire and climate.
in Denver you can carry a G19 in the summer with almost no effort. in Miami it will take some effort to dress around it because of the higher heat and humidity.

You sound like you should be looking at a M&P Shield. Gain a couple more rounds over the Kahr, smaller than the Glock, similar trigger to the Glock, totally reliable with any ammo.

I'm with Beardog on this one. I carry a CM9 or a G26 depending on the season, attire, etc. As some would say, why not both! I also follow the same rule as deseder. If I think the situation may be more elevated than normal I will find a way to carry the G26. A G19 is a little large for all season carry IMO.

I own a Kahr PM9, all black with night sights. I also own the Gen 4 Glock 19. I like both and each has it's carry options. Since I live in a hot climate (central Texas) I pocket carry the PM9 in a Desantis Nemesis holster, in warm weather. It works fine with decent size pockets. The Glock I carry in cooler weather in a OWB Raven Concealment kydex holster. These options work for me. I hope this helps you.

I agree with BEARDOG & dirtkicker on this one. I often carry both at the same time. G26 in an N82 ProTactical IWB or Galco Lite Shoulder holster. CM9 in a Galco pocket holster or PJHolster IWB @ 4 o'clock. Like you, I want to add the G19, as it will allow me to carry with the holsters I already have. :D

Gosh that Shield is tempting. But...to the origional poster. If you have to decide on just one, go with what you got. Point being, you can carry it year round in a variety of ways. Try a new holster or carry method. I have a CM9 and pocket carry, also IWB w/a PJ holster, and dress permitting use a pancake OWB. I love my G26 but it is a brick.

Sometimes on rare occasions I carry both my g23 iwb and a pm9 in the pocket. But since they are both on the same side the weight can be uncomfortable. Need a good belt.

For IWB carry, Glock 26 is the way to go. I carry a pm9 everyday, but I pocket carry it. That's the only niche that a Glock can't fill better than a Kahr. The Glocks are just too thick and too long. Any Compact or subcompact Glock would be excellent for IWB, and a far better shooter than a Kahr pm9.
I've owned and carried a Glock 19, 26, Springfield XD Subcompact 9, and now my CM9. For me, personally, the XD subcompact and G26 are great IWB weapons. In all honesty though, if you can carry a G26 and conceal it well, you should have no problems carrying the G19. The extra inch in barrel length is almost negligible because it is riding in your pants. The only real concern would be overall grip length and printing.
I found that I stopped carrying my G26/XD subcompact because I would rather have a bigger grip and more ammo capacity. The overall length of the G19 is equivalent to a G26/XD subcompact with a Pearce grip extension. That being said, I bought the CM9 expressly for pocket carry, which as others have said, the Glock 26 can't do well (not impossible).
In summer months, when I do not want to gear up with my Crossbreed supertuck, i think the CM will fit the bill nicely. I am still on the fence as to whether or not I will IWB the CM9.

+1 on the g26, i have the pm9, g26 and 2 g19s. all are keepers, but the one gun i would keep amongst those, if i had to give them up, would be my g26. it's the most versatile glock imho.
i say, keep the pm9 and save for a g26. the pm9 is undoubtedly easier to conceal than a g26/g19, so you may miss that aspect of the kahr. the g26 can be easily concealed and still accepts all size glock mags making it a very versatile choice.

If you can cary the G19 with no problems all day, then for sure, go with it. But I find there are many times when A larger frame pistol just won't do. My CM9 rides with me 99% of the time in pocket, or sometimes IWB. Wintertime, I sometimes strap on my G30.

All you need is the right holster for that PM9: the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). I carry my CM9 in one at 8:00 (I'm a lefty), which would be 4:00 for a righty. I tell you the truth; that super thin, 1 ounce holster is so comfortable that it and the gun disappear from my perception. All day long. I even took a nap one afternoon and forgot I had it on. Realized it when I got up. I have to reach back there and touch the gun to confirm it is there - no kidding!
That said, it is apples and oranges. The 19 will serve as a night stand gun with a tactical light mounted on it, a truck gun, an apocalypse gun, and still carriable at least in the cooler months with a good 2 clip IWB holster such as a Crossbreed. There is a very legitimate place for BOTH guns in your arsenal.

I agree, when I have my pm9 in my pj holster I am always reaching back there to confirm I still have it on. I have also fallen asleep watching tv and wake up and went looking for my pm9 and then realize I have it on me. The pj holster is amazing. No one will ever know you have it. I have the tuckable version and have tucked in a dress shirt to and no one knew it was there. Very versatile. When nothing else will do a pm or cm9 with a pj holster will. I wear it at 4

I would suggest trying some different holsters before giving up on the Kahr. It sounds to me like that is the problem, not the gun.
Check the Kahr website. They list several pages of holsters for the PM9 by a number of different makers.

I agree with the apples to oranges comparison. When my attire will conceal it, I go with the G19 every time because of capacity. My Kahr CM9 probably sees more actual EDC time because I can just slip it in my pocket with any outfit and it conceals. Reliability, at least for me, has been close to equal. I would...and do...trust my life to either one.
