Have seen mention from members who may have this brand, so passing the following information along.

CARACAL F AND C PISTOL SAFETY WARNING AND RECALL NOTICE

Caracal USA has determined a potential condition of the trigger unit in a very limited number of Caracal F and C pistols that could possibly allow the pistol to fire when dropped onto a hard surface with a round in the chamber. Although Caracal USA has not received any reports of injuries, it is initiating this voluntary recall to protect the safety of its customers because of the remote possibility of an unintentional discharge occurring.
The affected Caracal pistols have serial numbers that begin with B, C, F, L, or M. If your pistol's serial number begins with one of these letters, please follow the following steps.

Only the Caracal F and C pistols with the serial numbers identified above are affected by this recall. If your pistol has a different serial number, it is not subject to the recall.

If you own a Caracal F or C pistol with a serial number identified as being affected by this recall, please do not load or fire your Caracal F or C pistol and contact us immediately to arrange to have the trigger unit replaced, completely free of charge, using the following steps:

Step 1 - Contact us at 205-655-7050 (Monday-Friday 8-5 Central Standard Time), or at info@caracal-usa.com and provide the model and serial number of your pistol.

Step 2 - After contacting us, we will send you a prepaid overnight shipping box with instructions so that you can return your pistol to us, free of charge.

Step 3 - Your firearm will be returned as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, and to thank you for your patience and cooperation, we will send you a free magazine when we return your pistol to you.

For more information, you may visit www.caracal-usa.com (http://www.caracal-usa.com) or call Caracal USA at 205-655-7050

I have heard good things about them, if one of the gun shops around had any to handle I might place it on the list of guns to purchase.

I have been following these for a while and have seen some good reviews so far... I am interested in them and will watch how this plays out over time.
They have some unique features, a very high grip/low bore axis, a "quick" sight option that is interesting, I have read that they will be introducing them in larger calibers. They even have a pistol cal. carbine that shares mags with the pistols. They are made in the UAE and Germany. From what I have read the designers were from Styer and Glock, and they have been tested and approved by some very stringent German standards... I wonder why this firing after dropping issue/recall wasn't found out and corrected during all that testing???

I have a caracal c with standard sights and it is a fine shooter. Trigger pull is 4lb 4oz and has a thin grip for a double stack. Only 1.10 wide. and cost me 431 dollars out the door. I am going to wait a out the "fix" abit to see if it hurts the light trigger pull. The trigger stop / safety is very different from typical pistols designs. No plunger in it , flat piece of spring steel that moves out of the way as the triggers saftey bar is pulled. I think if the pistol hit hard enough directly straight down with more force that the trigger pull has it might trip the triggers safety. I would like the free extra mag that will come with the recall. Apparently 2 pistols have been dropped that fired just recently. Thats after 6 years of building these pistols mainly for other markets. Looks like there going to go thru all of them atleast for the american market.

I helped hardluk1 shoot his new Caracal C on it's first range trip a few days ago. That is how I got so sold on this gun! Sweet shooting, low felt recoil, low muzzle jump TACK DRIVER! :D I'm counting the days (24) until I can make one my own. And, hey, free shipping, quick turnaround and an extra mag for the trouble. I'm cool with that if it doesn't mess up the trigger, which is nice.

The caracal may have a recall but at least they built it to go bang every time . Unlike so many companies that have pistols with several years of development and still haveing problems with no recall and simply not selling it till the darn thing real works. Thats a main reason I did not buy a p380. Well that and cost. I have not dropped a firearm in 46 years . I would be comfortable not send ing mine in.

I too saw one at our show. First I'd ever laid eyes on and it looked pretty nice.

I didn't hold it but it looked very ergonomic.
