Biketoberfest - total trainwreck, it was GREAT!~

Folks, my skin is going to double for shoe sole leather in a few days, but... it was great. Biketoberfest that is.

The great date - ha, oh the Lord works in mysterious ways.

I'll tell the tale quickly (and post pictures tomorrow), but everyone bailed on me, which allowed me to go totally alone, and then find myself in the company of two very interesting ladies, one of which I hit it off with quite well....

Got to hear some very good music - even an AC/CD tribute band that was absolutely fantastic. Blues. Etc. Got to walk my butt off. Got to live on alcohol for three days....

T-Shirt of the Year: "I came to Daytona to drink and f--k, and I'm almost done drinkin'!"

We did have one member of the group arrested - got into a cat fight with another gal - or so I was told.

My skin toasted - even with sunblocker.

Got to ride back alongside a lone 1%'er - crawling up old lady's rear bumpers at 75mph, and doing about 105 when they moved out of the way.

From one Harley rider to another, looks like a great time had by all. Loved looking at all the fun pix. I assume the red Harley with the "Bra Hangars" is yours? Can't tell for sure, kinda looks like a Low Rider? Love the color too, my Road King is the metallic looking Red/Maroon. Oh & lest I forget, nice lookin' lady friend too! Living in Oregon, I'm afraid with all the rain & cold, my bike is in the garage for awhile! Keep the rubber on the pavement buddy! :D

Uh... CJ, What's a bra catcher? My mind has been going through permutations of theories for what activity in which one might be involved to include attempting to catch a bra as he/she road the highway, presumably at a rather high rate of speed, with ample amounts of beer likely to be involved.

But then, I've heard of front end covers of sports cars referred to as bras. So perhaps its to anchor a protective cover over the windscreen. I actually prefer the first theory as it may proved to be vastly more interesting.

The bra catcher is the spikes on the windshield.

Backstory: I had some spikes leftover from another project. So... I had five spikes, and there are five cross piece screws on the windshield. I put the spikes there. Looked a bit out of place, so I got another four and put them on the uprights.

With that... I was riding with my group to a B4BC event (Biker's 4 Breast Cancer). In front of me was cancer survivor Faith, riding on the pPad of Greasmonkey's bike. With no warning... she undid her bra, slipped her arms out of the straps, and yanked it out the arm hole of her tank top. Then, she flung it backward. I got it on my spikes. Hence "The Bra Catcher".

Later, I added a tach, so had to add another cross piece, five more spikes... to hold the windshield bag up higher so I could see the tach. Now the bike is totally spiked. Axels, oil filler, windshield, derby and point covers are "spike".

There will be two more sticking out the exhaust tips.

So there ya have the full money on bra catchers.

BTW, the black, matronly, undergarment was one nasty sweaty item... damn near splashin' when it landed. I used thumb and index finger to return it to her....

Gotcha. H-D has changed it's line-up of bikes lately like we change our underwear. My brother had a Low Rider, looked very similar to yours. Anyway, I'm with Old Lincoln in that I'll keep the "Bra Catcher" stories a pipe dream over the reality of it all! :D
