I had sold my M&P Shield 9mm to fund this CM40 since the Shield was a bit difficult to draw from my pocket. Also took awile to decide between the CM9 and CM40. Well after a couple of months and despite a couple of broken followers....I'm happy with my choice.
I wanted something smaller than my G27 but with more ft-lbs than my LCP. When I can, I carry my G27 (about 70% of the time when I'm out of the house), next up is the CM40 for concealability. It is fine in my cargo shorts, ok in my relaxed fit jeans and even in my Docker casual pants. It has totally replaced the LCP for around the house carry. It has also been do-able in my bicycling road jersey back pocket for that Bull Terrier that wants to put me on the front page of the news paper as he is working on clamping down on my neck.
I have used the LCP on a couple of occasion when visiting family (etc) so it will stay in my line up.
I'm now able to comfortably shoot my prefered Winchester 165gr PDX1 and it is what I have loaded in it at this time. It is a hot load but I'm able to knock down 8" plates at 20 yards so it is 'good to go' in my book. I will use some softer .40 for much of my practice just to limit wear and breakage to the pistol. In difference to the Shield, I'm able to load the (+1) round in the chamber over a full mag so my CM40's capacity totals 6 round.
Over all....Happy with the CM40. :)
