good for now.

shot 150 rounds of fmj today for a total of 421 rounds through this gun.

first 100 were federal champion red box and wwb, not one bobble. the next 50 rounds of wwb produced a 3 failures to feed and one nose dive jam.

if this gun makes through 100 rounds before it starts acting up im o.k. with that. ive done the fluff-n-buff job on the mag followers and underslide and so on as gb has pictured in his helpful hints.....

the next time i try this gun out will be with 50 rounds of wwb hollow points however; if this gun only works for 100 rounds at a time with fmj im ok with that considering its a .45acp mini gun.

I don't find that acceptable myself. I'd continue to search for the issue either the gun or the brand of ammo.

Your correct they are small and can be unforgiving but it should shoot all day long with any decent quality ammunition.

I'm happy its better but I hate to settle for less than perfect.

Bawanna, what else could it be other than dirty?

the first 100 rounds (50 fed red box and 50 wwb) functioned flawlessly. the last 50 rounds of wwb (from the 100 round box of the first 50) produced the malfunctions. i inspected every round for obvious abnormalities as i loaded the magazines and found not one.

At 421 rounds it's still early in the game. It could just be the Federal just doesn't have enough beans for it yet. After more rounds it may smooth out enough that it will digest more of it.

I think this why good carry ammo usually doesn't have any issues. If it feeds and chambers right it will run.

As long as carry stuff works I'd say your fine but it will undoubtedly get better with the FMJ stuff as time goes by.

id love to be able to just shoot 100 rounds of name brand fmj through it without any problems....fed red box worked fine, never had a problem....most of the problems have been with the wwb fmj but its usually only after 50 or so rounds have fired just fine....

I'd keep it lubed pretty well and keep shooting. Its slicking up while your having fun. A win/win to me.

Speaking of win/win, my son got an XDS at our gunshow Sunday. I didn't get one. I didn't win. Then he went yesterday to shoot it and nearly cleaned me out of 45 amm! I didn't win again. I think I'm a loser.

Id like to carry this gun as a bug on duty or as an off duty gun. During practice its frustraighting when it hangs up during rapid fire double taps at close range....it slows me down and doesnt instill confidence however, all it needs to do is cleanly make it through two magazines for carry.

Problem is it must make it through 50 rounds for qualification.

Im not giving up yet.....but i cant go on feeding it if it wont stop choking on occasion; after more than twice the recommended break-in rounds and the fluff-n-buff, you might see it on the trading block.

I'm not a get me down kind of guy. I'm routing for confidence and success. I think your very close on both.

i know im not alone with the PM45 problems.....id like to hear from others whom also had PM45 problems and what they did to fix them, how many rounds before 100%...et cetera...

Jerry, don't give up on the gun. It could be something as minor as a recoil spring or follower. If you can't make it bullet proof, send it back to the mother-ship with a letter of explanation. Avoid cheap ammo and run your gun wet until it's fully functional. Clean it every fifty rounds until it loosens up. You might want to read through some of the stickies to see if one of them holds the answer. Both my CM9 and P380 are flawless. There isn't any reason for your 45 not to be. Hang in there buddy.

Thanks muggs. I run it wetter than normal. The recoil spring has plenty of strength to it, no distortions of any kind....the follower?, well its a kahr made magazine so i seriously doubt they know how to fix it if thats the problem, lol. In fact 90% of a semi auto's problems are magazine related.

I wish kahr had somebody more experienced make their magazines.

Kahr doesn't make their magazines or their recoil springs. You can't tell if a recoil spring is good or bad by just looking at it unless there is obvious damage. Call Kahr customer service and discuss your problems. Request an RA and a prepaid shipping label. Let their armors sort it out and save yourself a lot of frustration. You paid good money for your Kahr. Allow Kahr an opportunity to make it right. You don't have anything to lose.

well, im calling this gun good.

not happy that the over 500 rounds i put through it were trial and error instead of practice practice but future outings should provide me with real training.

now im going to try to restock my ammo supply then work on some night sights for it.

just reporting in.
