Hi everyone,
I've owned a K9 (K9090), I think since the end of the 90's... I've always loved the gun but damn it's hard to pull the slide back and to this day I can't break it down without using a punch to get the slide stop pin out.

Locally, there is a CW40 for sale for $300 which I think is a good price. The owner claims he has only shot one box of ammo through it.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy this for my EDC in an IWB holster...

I've been reading on the forum all day and I've seen more posts about the CW9 than the CW40 and I'm wondering if there might be a reason for that other than caliber preference.

I've seen some posts about the muzzle flip on the 40... Is there anything else I should consider?

I have never shot a 40 S&W but I do shoot a full size 45acp regularly.

thanks,
BK

Welcome BA. Glad you found us.

I still have to use a tool on my K40 as well. Its not difficult but just hard enough that I can't get it without a screwdriver handle or plastic hammer.

Guess it beats falling out.

I can take my PM45 without a tool.

The 40 does flip some but most don't find it too abusive. I think that is a pretty good price.

I have never had to use a tool on my CW 40. I actually like the 'flip' of the .40, I have a friend and his wife who both shot my .40 and had no issues with the 'flip' either and she has a couple 9mm's and he has a 380, 9mm and a .45. $300 is a pretty good price.

I really like my cw9.i've just heard the .40 is "snappy" for some in the cw40...whatever "snappy" means.i chose 9 over 40 because ammos cheaper & shot placement is what gets you through.imo...i am looking to get a cw45 tho.:).what do the .40's run new up in your neck of the woods?

Not a bad deal considering dealer cost is 329+shipping.... amazing.

From my one range experience with my CW45 the recoil while managable created problems with my usual quick double tap routine... more recoil and the long trigger reset meant about half the time 2nd round stovepiped. If the video is to believed it might be worse on a .40?

I have no problem double tapping with 10mm power in larger guns or less power even in mouse pocket guns.

Until I master this or someone clues me in on a fix the 9mm with higher capacity might be my next gun. Until then my miniscule Bodyguard 380 is fully reliable. (well so are my fullsize 10mm and 9mm guns)
