How's it going everyone? I am new to the Kahr forums and I signed up because I am very interested in buying my first real pocket pistol. I originally bought a PM9 a couple years ago thinking it would be perfect for pocket carry. Awesome pistol, but over time I decided it was slightly too big and noticeable for pocket carry. So I traded that for a Walther PPQ. Now my question is, are new versions of the Kahr P380 more reliable than the models from a few years ago? I'm really interested in this little gun and I will be using it strictly for pocket carry. I'm just looking for some honest opinions from people who have handled and fired some newer models of the P380. Thanks in advance!

Sorry. Just realized I posted in the wrong sub forum.

I would have no reservations buying a new P380. Mine, purchased last summer, has been 100% reliable.

I did follow the prep directions on this site, as well as used ammo known to feed well in the P380, for the first 200 rounds. Now that it is broken in, it has worked flawlessly with everything I put through it.

+1 for the p380, just got mine (the fiance's) a couple weeks ago, took it to the range last week, and it ran great! Had a couple issues in the first maybe 20 rounds, but after that things settled in, and startin runnin as smooth as my cm9! I havent quite finished "break in" yet, but Ide say its reliable enough to carry at this point. I mean over 150 flawless rounds makes me feel good!

I would not be afraid to buy one. I've had mine over a year and it hasn't had major problems. Issues I had were in the 1st 200 rounds and were ammo related or operator related. I did rework my mags to resemble the latest engineering revision that they are making now. There are detailed pics of the latest mag lips on this site. Read as much as you can on them on this site and you should miss all the pitfalls. I'm very pleased with mine. Happy shooting.

If there are issues, Kahr can make it right...I really wouldn't worry about that. When it runs right (mine has always been great since I bought it), I don't think there's a sweeter .380 pocket pistol out there. Real sights. Great trigger. Locks back on an empty mag. AND it can handle +P rounds as well.
