I disassembled my CW9, cleaned and reassembled. Checked trigger and it worked ok. Chambered a 9mm FMJ (no problem) and fired it. Later, I tried to eject a live round, but the slide would only move back about 1/8 inch. Pulled the trigger to fire, but no fire. The trigger pulls all the way without firing. Any ideas on what to do?

I think that I've had a few temporary balks like that in the past. Remove the mag and try a brisk slingshot rack in a safe direction... several rapid attempts. Mine usually broke free with a few tries. I don't know what the problem was.

I know that his situation has come up before and it seems like a sturdy wooden dowel was involved with helping push the round out while trying to pull the slide back and forcing the pistol onto the dowel in the barrel, the dowel firmly seated on a sturdy surface... maybe in a vise with padding to protect the pistol from crashing into the vise.

Hopefully, someone more versed in the procedure will happen along.

I'd remove the mag, point in a safe direction and muscle the slide to the rear. It may take some unusual force, but the extractor should rip the round out if you pull hard enough. Be safe.

Sounds like the round was a little long and the bullet is stuck in the rifling. The dowel or cleaning rod, dowel is actually better down the barrel pushing while trying to cycle slide at the same time should pop it loose.

Dowel to floor or against a sturdy wall or secured in a vise. You just popping the round lose from the chamber. If you apply too much force without the dowel you might break the extractor. Not likely but could happen.

Is the round a reload by chance. I had this with mine. They were just a tad too long.
