View Full Version : How Many Kahrs Do You Own?

Some discussion on another thread got me to thinking ( dangerous territory :D ).

How many of us own more than one Kahr? Vote in the poll.

Maybe a good additional question would be how many do you want to own.

And maybe keep it to currently available models (or not). Like the much sought after MK45. Actually might be nice to leave in wishful models too, except for Jocko who I'm sure would take wishful models and do something nasty with it.

Maybe we should send him a 1911, very few perverts have 1911's.......

Oh, I didn't see the official poll, so disregard, it's perfect as is.

Why all of them, of course. :)

No, really. I'd seriously love to own the entire catalog of Kahrs. But my short list to aquire is: K9 Elite, MK9, MK40, and the mythical K45/MK45. I guess I'm going through my "Metal phase". Worse than a teenager.

I have a T on my future want list. An again mythical T45 would be sweet but someday any T would be nice

I have one Kahr.
But would really like to put a deposit down on the MK45 pre-order!
Do we need a KahrTalk Special Edition MK45 Special Run?

I think we do...

two pm45's, on pm9

All shoot perfectly... no issues whatsoever. I trust my life to any of them... except maybe the 9mm.... being a sub-caliber and all.

Well, the poll results so far have confirmed my intuition. Once you buy your first Kahr, you're pretty likely to buy more of them. At this point in the poll percentages, more people own 3 Kahrs than those who only own one.

There's a thread open now where the OP is wondering if the K9 is for him. One point I mentioned to him (without any data to back it up) is that people tend to buy more than one Kahr, which speaks to their quality. Now I've got some data to satisfy my curiosity. Just one of those things you "know" without being able to prove it.

Added my vote for 2 kahrs (cm9 and p380) but if this poll stays open long enough, ill be back to change it for sure! The cm9 was my first kahr (first handgun PURCHASE) and I fell in love with everything about it. Got the p380, and have the k9 on the list next... maybe.... might change if the right deal shows up :D

I have one Kahr, PM9. I like it. It does it's job very well. It certainly isn't my "go to" gun which is an H&K. The only manufacturer of which I have more than one gun is H&K.

To me Kahr is a niche gun and serves its purpose exactly as designed.

Starting in March '98... from my LGS/Range... SS K9(Kahr#1).
In early 2009, I heard Kahr was making a P380 so I ordered and paid for a NS model just after the P380's came out... 11 months to get mine... end of March 2010!(making it #4)
I got on this forum in September 2009 and saw all of the Yahoos here extolling the virtues of the PM9. I found a black one with NS LNIB at a gun show in January 2010(#2)!
Then within a month, I used BuyNow on GunBroker.com to get a new black PM45N(#3)
Within a month my P380 with NS arrived... the front NS DOA(#4)!
A little over a year later, I bought a LNIB Mag-na-ported P40(#5) in our Marketplace.
Then around March 2012 a new P380(#6) for my wife at a local gun store.
And now, ostensibly for my wife's get-home pistol, a very nice used black P9 with Novak NS(#7) from our Marketplace.

I still want a black P45 with NS and IF they ever make a K45, one of those... Black with NS! If Trijicon would start making the HD NS for Kahrs, then I would be able to approach Kahr Heaven!

I like having choices... and spares!

In order of purchase...CM9, P380, CM9, PM45 and MK9 Elite 03. I agree with niche commebt and that is why all of mibe are small and light. When 2nd CM9 is finished with customization, I may thin the herd by one...

I was trying to stay with the smaller ones for CCW, but I've been carrying the P40 quite a bit. I love that size... just like the K9, but lighter by 8 ounces.

That's a great deal on the MK40 Elite with NS.
Think I paid $820 for mine NIB and shopped around for that price.

I have only 1 Kahr, an all black PM9 that I bought a little over a year ago.

It was for a specific purpose, a small light weight carry gun that would work well with the lighter clothing so common here in central FL.

I thought my G27 was a little big at times.

I have since gone back to the G27 for my carry needs. ;)

K9, P9, CW9, and P380.

Had an older blunt-nose P9 years ago and sold it in a moment of stupidity. I won't make that mistake again.

My MK9 Elite is my lone Kahr. I have looked at others from time to time, but other priorities have always come up - usually they are called Colt or FNH.

If I do get another Kahr, it will be a K9 or T9.

See how easy it is for the government to find out how many guns you have??

Due to that tragic boating accident, I no longer have any guns. At one time, though, I enjoyed a T9, then a TP45, then a T40, then a K9 and another TP45.

Those boating accidents really are tragic. It's a damn shame they can't come up with some better boating safety equipment.

So many of us have been thru these traumatic events, lucky to get out with our very lives.

Truly sad when one ponders it.

So just how clever do we think our government really is?

Are they dumb enough to believe everything that is posted?
Efficient enough to collect everything that is posted?
Organized enough to remember where they put that info they collected?
Smart enough to even understand what it means?

Hmmmm.....

Maybe not the GOVERNMENT per se, but there are a lot of zealots out there with nothing but time on their hands... volunteers... many of whom we are paying with our taxes to sit on their a$$es and wait for gubmint checks. AND, you MIGHT be surprised what the gubmint can do in BLACK projects when they are sufficiently motivated... as when wanting our money... or to get rid of our pesky guns!

I fear that we shall see what the Dear Ruler thinks he can do with Executive Edicts and a willing Justice Department and his growing "State Police Force as strong or stronger than the military."

Many applauded H!tler's disarming German citizens and using his Brown Shirts as enforcers... well, maybe just the disarmament. Most of Europe thought he was an enlightened leader... at first. Remember, HIS movement was Socialist... and very much like Russia's, BUT, his was very Nationalistic as well as Fascist. He believed that his Aryan Race should conquer the inferior races and rule the world. Super-Elitist Obama would do this as Ruler of the United Nations... in his dreams.

Not JMHO!

Except my Kahr is the MK40 Elite.
And the last four guns I've bought are Heckler and Koch.

Cool. I like H&K too, but only have one, which in fact was my most recent purchase, a HK 45c which I believe you also have. I spent some time lusting after a MK23 but just couldn't justify it, and fortunately the supply of them dried up so I can stop worrying about it. I put the money towards a SCAR instead.

The threaded barrel and some other stuff for my 45c just arrived, so it now becomes like a "mini AR" because the initial purchase is only just the beginning. The need to accessorize the HK and my SCAR have pretty much stopped any other gun purchases for a while now.

Top of the list at the moment is a FNH FNX-45t when it becomes available. Unless some other bright, shiny object appears first.
