I picked up my new CW45 last week. First trip to the range I shot it 100 times. Took it home, cleaned and lubed it well. Second trip was today, another 100 rounds thru it. So, if you care, here are my thoughts. I have a PM 9 that has been flawless since the first round thru it, so my expectations were very high for this one and I was not disappointed.

Trigger was smooth as expected. Accuracy was very good. No FTE and no FTF. Although I did have trouble feeding LSWC ammo. I did read about the chamber being a bit short and I found that to be the case with mine. The 200 rounds thru it were all 230 gr ball ammo. I tried the LSWC and the shoulder was a little high on them. I will try loading some a little shorter (less shoulder showing) and see if they chamber completely. I did find the checkering to be quite sharp. I took a file and hit the last two rows pretty hard and that helped some. But after 100 rounds the web of my hand was very tender. The pistol shots high left for me and I can live with that. Drift the sight right some and maybe hit it a little with a file, that should get POA equal to POI.

Over all I am pleased with my purchase. I think I'll order some officers mags and make me some flush mags now that I feel good about it's reliability.

After another 200 rounds without problems I think I will be able to trust it for carry. I bought it to replace my Combat Commander. I wanted lighter weight and something a little less valuable.

Yes, I bought a CW9 and then a P45 to replace my Kimber or Colt for carry duty... just don't want to lose them. The CW9 has been 100%, the P45 not so much... still working with it.

Glad to hear you like your CW and it's shooting well! :)

I always wear shooting gloves when I'm practicing. I don't shoot my Kahrs that much at the range, well maybe the MK40, and I figure in any emergency situation, the last thing I'll be worried about is the cheese grater checkering.

I really never worry about the pricve of the gun that is in my pocket that I trust 100% to save my life. If I have to use the gun to def3end myself, the fact that it goes bang is more important tome than the fact that I might loose it in defense situation...I never put a price on my life, I am to valuable, worth far more than any damn gun. If I wanna carry a POSA I would have stuck to my kel teks.

dbracin: We are in somewhat similar circumstances. After good experiences with a CW40, P40, PM9 and CM9, I am now developing familiarity with a CW45, intending that it will replace a Sig CCO for some carry situations. Your experience with LSWC is useful, because I have a few hundred rounds left over from competition that I will now feed cautiously into the CW45. I read through the many posts on adapting Officer-sized 1911 mags, but my eyes glazed over before I grasped the One Best Method. If you have been into that thread, how do you intend to proceed? Thanks.

Well, it was more like leaving it in the truck instead of carrying it. There are a lot of people who can hide a 1911, I'm not one of them (at least while wearing shorts and a T-shirt, which is about 99.9% of the time for me.) I've never handled or fired a pistol that feels as good as my 4" Kimber 1911... but that silly CW9 gives it a run for it's money! And they are both 100% reliable. Win-win. :D

No need to reinvent the wheel. ;)
I'm going to just order 2 Metalform mags and 2 Wilson follower kits to start.
Followed closely by a a holster from Sideguard.
