I bought a CW45 a few months ago, and it has functioned flawlessly for the first 300 rounds or so. Then I decided to get some 1911 flush fit mags and modify them to work in the CW45. They fired fine, but the slide would not lock back after the last round.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, another range trip and this time none of my mags would lock back after the last round. Not even the kahr mags that used to work perfectly.
Then I read some threads here about tightening the slide lock lever screw to correct that problem, so I went out and got a 6 torx screw driver and tightened it down.
I went to the range this weekend, and now all of the mags lock back after the last round. I had one time that one of the 1911 mags didn't lock back, but that mag was some cheap blazer ammo. Next mag, I loaded with PMC bronze, and it locked back fine again. Seems to be pretty much fixed.
I wanted to thank those who shared this simple solution to my problem. Great community of people here.

Nice to have helped out on this issue. A little research & reading on this forum is a great way to find answers to a particular problem. Glad to hear you got the issue resolved. :D

I have the opposite problem with my pm45. The slide locks back erractically with a round still in the magazine.
New slide stop spring on the way from kahr, will search for a #6 torque head for the change out....id rather have no slide locking than it do so.

I had this problem for awhile with my CM9. The next round in the mag was brushing the slide lock lever and causing the slide to lock back prematurely. I ground a small amount off of the slide lock lever pin and it works fine now. You might also try different ammo. Some bullets are just fatter than others. The skinny ones may work better for you.
It's easy enough to check. Take the slide off of your CW45 and re-insert the slide lock pin into the frame. Then take a full magazine and manually eject the first found. You'll probably notice the next round sliding forward a little bit. Without changing the position of the next round insert the magazine into the mag well and see where that round is in relation to the slide lock lever pin. You'll be able to tell if there is clearance or not.
If not the follower mod may help in addition to grinding down the pin a slight bit.
And make sure your thumb isn't hitting it while firing...

Jerry, have you talked with Kahr again? It may be time for them have a closer look at it, check all of the specs to see what is amiss.

Then I'd agree with JFootin. If the new spring doesn't work, it's time to give Kahr a call.
