I have been contemplating this for some time and today i did it. I traded my 20yr. old Glock 19 for a Kahr CW9. Nothing wrong with the G-19, it was perfect in every way. The problem is the slight onset of arthritis in my hand that made it hard to control the extra width of the Glock. I was not having any trouble with my Kahr P9 so I decided to get a suitable mate that felt the same and used the same magazines. I wanted them to be a little different so it would be easy to tell one from the other. Haven't been to the range yet but at 10--15yds. there can't too much difference. I HOPE!

I had a cw9, now have a p9, they shoot the same and look almost exactly the same. Both are great pistols.

WELL~~ Took it to the range today. Put about 130 rounds thru it, mixed FMJ and JHP, 115gr and 124gr. Not quite as accurate as the Glock or P9, but good enough. Did have two glitches. The slide locked open twice with live rounds still in the mag. Hit the slide release and went on shooting, guess it's just part of the wearing in process, all else ran just fine. The only other 'thing' was cleaning the bore. Not really a problem, but it just takes a little more time and elbow grease to clean 'cut' rifling as compared to polygonal rifling. Overall I feel like it's gonna be a keeper.

I've always kinda thought of the polymer Kahrs as Glocks on diet pills... Then they came out with that "Thin is in" slogan and I thought... yep.

Congratulations on your purchase, bulletnose.
I'm betting you shoot right-handed. With sub-compact pistols, it's very easy for the thumb(s) to make contact with the slide lock. If this happens, you may inadvertently bump the slide lock lever, while the action is cycling, causing the slide to hold open.
There are a few ways to troubleshoot this. One is to shoot the gun left-handed, which places your thumbs on the opposite side of the pistol. Another is to let an experienced shooter test the pistol. This method is not fool-proof, however, as your friend may bump the slide lock, too.
To start, it may take a conscious effort to focus on your grip technique to avoid contact with the slide lock. Before long it will become second nature and premature slide lock will be a thing of the past.
Enjoy your new acquisition. Shoot. Shoot. Shoot. Then come back and tell us how reliable and fun this little package really is.

snakes well do a great job for u. That is about allI ever use anymore. Maynot be quite as good as a good bore brush but IMO my barrels after a good bore snake workout look good enough for me and I like the snake as I can run it up through the mag well and give the barrel its workouot and at the same time it is also cleaning a shinning the feed ramp.
My bet it was ur thumb possably hitting the slide lock lever, but keep an eyeon ur hands for awhile to see. what RRP stated is a good way to check it out but 2X tells me, maybe shooter error. If there is something wrong with thegun itself it tendfs to duplicate itself more than twice and ur in the break in period to. so just shoot it like u stole it and the gun and u will mate up better to.
