I swapped out my CW40 for a new MK40. I can't wait to get it to the range to start breaking it in! The smaller frame fits perfectly in my car top console, and I love the added mass on the steel frame compared to my old CW40.

My MK40 Elite manages full power 40 self defense ammo easily.
And is amazingly accurate for a 3.0" barreled gun.
I can shoot boxes of ammo with ease at the range.
The gun is pure pleasure to shoot.
If you liked our CW40? You will love your new MK40.
The little all stainless steel gun is built like a tank and runs like a Swiss watch.

I finally got to the range to try out my new MK 40. Wow, it didn't miss a beat -- no misfeeds, no failures to eject. The weight of the gun makes it very comfortable to shoot, in spite of its sub-compact size. I think it is more comfortable than my old CW 40. My first two mags were not that great, but I quickly zeroed in on the targets. I know that I have a keeper in my MK 40!
My wood grips are on the way from Kahr and that will really dress the gun up.

Congrats on the new mk40. Man I'd love to pick up one in 9mm. I held one like you got at my LGS a few weeks back and loved it.

When I walked in the LGS, I was there to order a new M&P 22. I placed the order, traded in another Smith and Wesson 22A, and then started looking in the case at other guns. I had a CW 40, which worked without a flaw, but it was a bit too large to fit "just right" in my car console. Again, I had no intention of getting another new gun, but when I saw the MK 40, I could not take my eyes off of it.
The clerk said that it would take a week to get the M&P 22 in, and that was fine with me (I wasn't in a big hurry). All week I kept thinking about the MK 40, and decided to see if I could work a deal for the MK 40. He was asking $665.00 for the MK 40, and he gave me $265.00 trade in for my CW 40. I haven't seen the MK 40 anywhere for that price, so I made the deal. It was a buy because I simply wanted it, I did not need it. Is anyone else guilty of that?
Oh, and by the way, it fits "just right" in my car console!

I got the grips yesterday, and had to make a slight adjustment on them -- not much. I'll attempt to show pics. Apparently, I'm too stupid to figure out how to get the pics on this thread.

Either download pictures to your computer or insert your camera card into the computer. Locate and VIEW your pictures and write down the pictures"s number or identificarion # and which drive # they are on.
Go to Kahr talk, open post reply on your post, click on paper clip symbol. A pop up scteen will open, click on download from your computer (brouse). Find your pictures in the browse, highlight the #'s you want. That can be 1 or multiple pictures. Highlight all you want to post at 1 time (keep highlighted) click on (UPLOAD) in box. Then (wait) until it shows complete, it may take 2 or 3 minutes. Close that box after uploaded and the posting scteen will be back. add your text and post the comments (submit) with attachments. Comments can be before or after adding the pictures.

Okay, I'll admit it. This was the first trip to the range after I got the pistol in January, and one week before shoulder surgery. My right shoulder was giving me so much trouble, I shortened up from my usual 35 feet to about 28 or 30. The good news is that the surgery was successful. and I'm back to doing 50 push-up a day.
BTW, I do shoot this gun better than my PM9 - must be the weight. too bad it's too heavy to drop in a pocket.

Hello, I am new on here; fairly new to the shooting sports. Guns and guitars weren't allowed in the house when I was young so I am making-up for that in retirement. Girls were allowed, my parents thought firearms were dangerous; any way - I started buying my mini-arsenal a year ago with the NAA .22 lr./.22WMR pistols. Bought an LCP and a "Mustang" in .380 and was surprised that the longer-barrel revolvers made so much more noise than the .380 ACP. Now I have come back to the caliber I started with a year ago, the .40 S&W. First gun I bought and still have is the Smith SD 40 VE. Have never shot it. The CM 40 I just bought is nice enough that I just ordered an MK 40 Elite from buds, new for less than $600. MSRP was $961 so -38% OFF. Any advice for a 64-year old tall, skinny guy before I squeeze-off a round or three in the CM 40? Thanks to this forum I was able to get my new CM 40 to actually go "click" when I pulled the trigger. Out of the box if you racked the slide and then pulled the trigger it took 3-4 seconds for it to dry-fire. I irrigated the striker per instructions on here and that cured it. Maybe the block that pivots had some gunk too making it slow. I love the KAHR line, was going to buy one as my first purchase, but knew the .40 packed a kick. I am a big fan of the proverbial "little giant-killer" and have been around guns all my adult life with working outdoors land-surveying in Virginia. This is my foray into the recreational shooting hobby and regular carry. Enuf about me before someone complains (first post), KAHR ARMS are KICK A** :).

Welcome --- just spend some time reading the stickies in the New Member forum and you should be fine. Tall and skinny huh? Oh well, I guess you'll fit in anyways.

When I was young, I told myself I'd never weigh 200lbs. I just didn't know what direction I'd be coming from. :D
