I offer you a peak at the devastating power of the 25ACP.
After fixing my widowed aunt up with a revolver and some gear to go with it, she offered me my Uncles Colt Vest Pocket and time to come up with the funds for it. Kind of a take now, pay later arrangement, perfect for me.
This is a 1921 build. Had a mag disconnect and it shoots surprisingly well. Shot it in the back yard a little bit.
Take a peek.

I've been wanting the Colt VP or a Belgian Baby Browning since I was a teenager. I keep thinking that one day I'll run across "the deal"
Don't NEED one... I WANT one...

I actually had a mint Belgian Baby Browning a friend gave me. Had a receipt in its case where his dad bought it for 37 dollars at the Bon Marche. I think he shot it once and put it in his sock drawer. It was perfect.
I couldn't believe he gave it to me. After 4 or 5 years same friend started whining that he gave me the center piece of his collection. So being it was his dads gun I gave it back.
Shortly after I found out that his dad had said he wanted me to have it on his death bed. He never told me that part or I would not have given it back.
This eases my pain some but still a bitter pill to swallow.

I was fortunate, I did the roadwork and got her a good deal on a revolver, got her cleaning stuff and some ammo. Showed her how to clean and load and stuff.
In return even though I quoted her a much higher price on value, she offered it to me for 190 bucks. Not passing that up even though I don't have it. I will someday.
The Browning I had I figured was worth easy 500 plus and this would be too but it's not nearly as perfect as that Browning was. But is was MY Uncles gun so theres some family tie to it too which to me is rather priceless.

I have two crisp (well...slightly crumpled) $100 bills hidden back (that's all of the gun money I have saved back in the last 4 years) with your name on the crumpled envelope...I can forward shipping info to you immediately.... that's an easy $10 profit for you (more than your savings account makes in interest):)

Whats a savings account? I have a wife and a toy box.
But I'll keep you in mind, it just may come down to needing that 10 bucks.

That's a great little pistol, and did get my mind off things. The serial number is a good idea. Apparently the serial numbers can wear and become hard to read over time. Photoshop can really wear things down.

How do you get them there bigger bullet thingys in that little gun?
One of a few guns I've regretted selling was a '70's Bauer stainless copy of the baby Browning. Back in the day of before really small lw guns in useful calibers, that was my never leave home without a gun arm for years.

TW25 grease and an arbor press.
They don't shoot for beans. I'm thinking about sending it to the mother ship. Should I send a sample of the bullets or not.
Is it an accuracy or extractor problem. If it's accuracy you can try just replacing the barrel. If it's extractor you may have to send it back to Colt's 'cause I think those were custom fit for the multi-cartridge guns.

Being a 1921 model do you think that will be an issue. I mean a gun should run right out of the box and last forever shouldn't it. I'm kind of new.
I think it might be a bad barrel. It goes bang every time but nothing comes out the far end, well actually not very far end with this one.
About every 3 shots I have to pry stuff out of the close end so I cnn load another bullet.
Maybe it's bad Pollyanna riling?
You are using the conversion barrel on the biggies, right?
Pollyanna riling screws up a lot of stuff, but I don't think it's your problem.

did you polish the feeder ramp with mother's milk and dremble out the chambur? Also might need to knock a bit off the barrul hood and throte the barrul some, and mabie run them big holler point bullets thru yore sizin dye a bit
that gun oughta run fine
Bawanna

Conversion barrel?:confused::confused:
I got one of them drembling tools, where do I find this mothers milk?
I don't think I got a sizer die, I got a vise and a ball peen hammer will that work?
I so want to love this gun but till it shoots 3 out of 12 shots with no truble I'm not sure I can rely on it for sefpretection.
Until then I'll just stick with my jimenez in my sock.

Great gun Bawanna! Keep us posted on the repairs etc.
Bawanna

Kidding mode off, this gun really needs no repairs. Just prior to my Uncles passing I found him a second magazine for it. I don't recall now if there was an issue with the original or if he just wanted a spare.
I haven't shot it enough to determine if the original mag works reliably.
We shot the new mag and it worked fine for him until we ran out of bullets.
I don't plan to carry it much anyhow so I'm not really concerned. Just nice to have and I love old stuff, and it fits nicely in the safe.
Congrats on the Colt. I, too, have an affection for those vest pocket .25 classics. Enjoy it!

I don't think I'll load for it, I have to put on my opti visor to see the cartridge as it is.

Back to original post - that's a really nice little Colt. My first handgun was a slightly larger Colt....
Anyway, it's going to take a LOT more than that to take my mind off of the recent election debacle.
I'm thinking it's going to take a lot of Scotch to start with.
