I got two of these new base plate kits today... and I've ordered another, along with a ported barrel for my P9 and a few extractors and parts for my K9 from my recent ... most recent case rupture and loss of its extractor. I put my spare PM9 extractor in the K9 and vigorously racked the slide through three magazines full of FMJ with no problem at all. It seems the P9, PM9, and K9 can share extractors and the other extractor train parts... nice to know!
I got my new 36" Looper Kydex-reinforced belt, too. I've been using my 38" one with the extra inner hole and need something smaller! I've lost over 27 pounds so far, and have ordered some smaller-sized shorts, too, from Lands End... my favorite supplier for shorts and polos.
Anyhow, I thought I would show and compare these new black base plate kits with the regular ones. I want one setup for each pistol P40, PM9, and P9... flush magazine with black plate. I used my Flat Black finish touchup pen to color the part of the magazine that shows, too.
P40 upper left and PM9 to the right. I haven't any any pinches from the PM9 and I think that the bike tube grip cover makes the difference there. The P40 needed help and I used a 3/32" thick by 3/4" inner diameter O-ring to stop the pinches.

The original price was $24.95, I believe. I don't know if anyone bought any at that price, but $20 is just $5 more than the SS set, so I sprung for a pair... then I added another to the new order I needed to make for the K9 extractors. I wish that they would make the same thing for the .45's. I would rather have a two-finger grip than the plastic "flush-fitting" thingies.

I got a kit for my P9, too. I haven't blackened the tube but with the O-ring, yet, but it's okay.
Since they were on sale for $129.99, I went ahead and got the ported barrel for the P9. The Mag-na-porting would have been neater, but it would have cost me shipping there and back plus $140 for the porting of the barrel and slide.
I'll be doing a pictoral comparison of the 9mm barrels between the K9, P9, and PM9... fit in each or not, etc. Plus I'll do some shooting and videoing when I get a chance to show what the barrel is like during shooting.

So Wynn, did you turn the inner tube inside-out after you cut it, and what size did you use? Mine had mold marks on the outside. I think I must have used a narrower diameter tube, because mine look like they are stretched a lot more than yours.

Watch out for the talcum powder inside. I used what I had on hand... a new(then) 1.75" tube and turned it inside out before installation. The tube stretches, so don't be afraid to pull it out and up. Use smooth cuts, though, no ragged edges to split or tear.

Wyn, check out Core Essentials Trackline belts. They have no holes and are infinitely adjustable. I believe that the have two models heavy duty enough for concealed carry.

I was looking at those belts and just noticed the "Made in China" stamp....I thought they were made in the USA.

When I bought mine they were made in the USA. Where did you see the "Made in China" stamp? I use mine for EDC of my CM9 and because of the adjustability it very comfortable to wear.

Yes... I have long lamented the lack of a real flush-fitting metal base as the other calibers have.
If I ever get a P45, I'll definitely figure out which 1911 mags work the best and fit the flushest with hold-open-on-empty magazine reliability.
I had problems with Comcast going down after 2AM here and being out for several hours... then couldn't get going... back online this morning to do banking and email.

Does anyone know if Kahr is still selling the black flush fit magazine base for a PM9...I didn't see any on their web site but Wyn has some so they must of sold them at one time....I love everything about my black PM9 except the stainless silver magazine and base...It would look so much better with a black one...Hopefully Alfonse will start selling them if Kahr doesn't stock them any longer....

Pretty sure Al makes stand alone black base plates already. Check his website

I don't have any of the thin metal ones. It might be worth me seeing if I can get a quantity discount on some from Kahr and sending a batch out for black oxide. I have always thought they should be black too, except on my MK9.

Yep, black handle, black base plate. As it should be.

Kahr.com still has SOME black metal baseplates, but not the solid black ones. The last ones I got were on sale at $12.99(?) I think. They have a few for $13 but some are $23!
