A Twinkie alongside reduced fat milk. That gave me a chuckle.

...backstory on the last one ever....

I had to attend an ABATE meeting on Friday nite. Chapter Pres, bestowed some twinkies on us. Meeting got out about 10:30pm. Also had to deliver some stuff upstate to my friend "JW". She says, "When you gettin in?". About 2pm-ish is my reply. She agrees to leave the door open (even tho I got her door access code anyway...). Thinkin'... can't go empty handed. Stopped at the late nite booz emorium, picked up a bottle of Wild Turkey 101, some Double Cross vodka....

I get there, she's three sheets under, and fast asleep. I grabbed some bourbon and stuck the twinkie in her fridge.

Whats the big deal when she gets up? Moi. No. Top shelf vodka... a little... but that damn Twinkie.. holy crap... big ol' hit with JW.

And I stayed till Sunday early... snuck out with the chickens.... right at sunrise.

Didn't have much luck with the ladies upstate... so on the way back I picked up.....

Lol @ Zombieland pics! I love that movie, it's watched often in my house. "Snowballs?! Why is it always snowballs?!?! ARRGGGHHH!!!" *begin temper-tantrum*

The very day Hostess closed up for good, before coming home from work I grabbed for my hubby the last Ding Dong on the shelf, a whole case of Chocodiles, and 7 chocolate donuts (the little 6 packs). He was soooooo happy, lol.

If my dad knew that Hostess died 4 years after he did, he'd roll over in his grave.

RIP Hostess.

Don't care much for Twinkies myself. Krispy Creme donuts RULE !!!, but maybe these will help you guys/gals going thru twinkie withdrawal.

You don't have no Krispy Kremes in your area? We got em out here.

Lots of places use them as fund raisers.

Twinkies! How did they get a cup of sugar and a tablespoon of lard to taste so good?

Magic.

I was never a twinkie fan, but I did like their donuts and chocolate cup cakes. I read an article about Hostess in the paper the other day, and it said that back in the beginning twinkies were actually made with real ingredients and were fairly healthy. They had (real!) fruit filling in them and none of the preservatives. Then the factories discovered preservatives and artificial ingredients, and the twinkie changed into what it is (was) today. There is actually no cream or dairy product in the "cream filling" of their various foods, which is part of why twinkies never die since there's nothing to actually spoil. It was an interesting article about their history and evolution.
