Hey everyone....been lurking for a couple months doing a lot of reading here and finally pulled the trigger on a CM9 last weekend!

After much research and reading I finally had my mind set on a LC9 or the CM9. I knew the Ruger would most likely be dead nuts reliable but I just couldn't get over the trigger feel on it. I somewhat had the feeling that the possibilities of getting a problem Kahr would be more than getting a problem Ruger but I considered this a risk worth taking because everything about the CM9 felt better to me (especially the trigger). $468 later I was out the door with a new CM9, one box of ammo, and an IWB holster......SWEET

Got home...cleaned it, lubed it, and racked it nearly 500 times as per Kahr prep thread and went to bed with a :) on my face (and some gnarled up fingers and thumbs).

The following day I aquired about 300 more rounds of ammo from my dad (he no longer owns a 9mm and doesn't plan to in the future) and took my new CM out to start the break in period.

To be completely honest, I was more than ready to accept a couple issues during the break in period but to my surprise the CM spit out 100 rounds FLAWLESSLY! I put Independence Arms 115g FMJs, Winchester 147g sub-sonic hollowpoints, and some unknown reloads through her without ANY hiccups :w00t:...........no nose-dives, no FTF, no FTB, no FTE, NOTHING! And I was able to slingshot from the first round! Very impressed so far!

Finished my 100 rounds and took her in for a cleaning. Quite a bit of brass flakes in there so I did some investigating. With the slide off and a loaded mag in I noticed that the top round looks like it rubs on the ejector pretty good while going into battery. Is this common for these? It really doesn't concern me too much as I'm only 100 rounds in and things are still wearing in.

Got the CM all cleaned up and lubed and I was shocked at how much it had smoothed out already! Slide was a little smoother (still stiff).....but trigger felt like like butter compared to when it was new (and it was a great trigger then!).

Anyway....I am really loving this pistol so far! Enough of this typing...I'm heading out for another hopefully flawless 100 rounds :D

just shoot it like u stole it. I see no issue with what ur saying either. The fact that u shoot all those different rounds shoulds give u alot of confidence to. No comparison between the cm and the Ruger. The ruger is a good gun, It aint a kahr..

welcome to a good forum to.

Welcome BigRed,

I know you're gonna find that you've made the right decision. I had an LC9 that I bought last year...couldn't understand why the thing kept lobbing bullets way to the right. I finally looked at the front sight, and it was way to the left in its dovetail (loose front sights seemed to be a common problem in the early LC9's).

Before I shot any rounds through the gun, I cleaned it and lubed it carefully. Nevertheless, I experienced some light strikes, and so I sent it back to the factory. It ran and shot well after that, but I just couldn't get the feeling of confidence in it, so I traded it.

Earlier this week, I almost bought another LC9, but I noticed that the one in the LGS had a loose, rattling slide, and so I ordered my CM9 instead.

Just no comparison. I've owned quite a few Rugers (I still have a SR40c), and I don't have anything against the brand, but this Kahr pistol just looks and feels really special...solid, parts fit perfectly. I have yet to run some rounds through it, but I think I'm gonna like this pistol the longer I own it.

I think you're getting that same feeling that I'm looking forward to...you know, the longer you own the pistol, the more you like and trust it.

Welcome again.

Andy

I owned a LC9 also and the Kahr is hands down a much better pistol. The Ruger functioned great and was very reliable, but as soon as I shot the K9 I knew the LC9's time was numbered. The trigger, the way it felt in my hand and being an all metal pistol sold me instantly. You also made a great choice, the CM9's trigger and the way it'll feel in your hands isn't any different. Congrats.....

I'm now at 250 rounds through my CM9 with ZERO issues yet! Some of my brass comes out scorched but from what I've read that should be an ammo issue. (Mostly S&B that does this)

Really like it and it and I won't get rid if it.....ever.

Rides appendix or pocket with me daily with +P GD short barrels.

LOVIN IT

No better carry pistol out there! And it shines up nice, too! :D

Welcome from North Dakota. I bought the P380 couple months ago after thoroughly researching pocket .380s . Completed all the prep stuff as you did. 400 rounds later and not one issue, I'm now a true Kahr guy. Within a month I'll be trading my old Glock 19 off on a PM9.

I love my CM9!! I have over 500 flawless rounds through mine and it gets better with each shot. I recently had a chance to shoot another pistol that I was looking for when I bought my CM9 and walked away from the other gun with a smile on my face knowing I was happier with my Kahr!!! My CM is on me at all times and I trust it with my life!

Kept my LC9 3 weeks. Sold it and bought my CM9. The LC9 was accurate and reliable with everything I fired, but I couldn't make myself love it. For what it was, it was too heavy and a bit too large, but with a very small grip area. The first time I held a buddy's CM9, I knew that was my weapon. Everything fit and felt better. Looks much better, too, which does matter to me. Even though it's 3+ ounces lighter, perceived recoil is less. It's more accurate in my hands as well.
