Hi gang.

I learned lots about Glocks on Glocktalk, hoping to do the same about Kahrs here.

I'm fixin to get a PM9, so figured I outtta see what you experienced folks think about them first.

I'm looking to upgrade my pocket carry piece from a P3AT.

He is my first line of defense:

Well sir your moving up in the world in a number of different areas.

The PM9 is a great little gun. Not on the same planet as it's predecessor.

I like to think we're on a little higher plain than that other forum too but I guess just about anybody would say that about their personal favorites, be it forums, magazines, or any kind of toy.

Glad you found us, enjoy yourself.

Find looking dog, you better pet him first, he looks awful mean.

I've spent a little time with the padding on my arm too, helping with our dept dogs. Amazing they can be so opposite in 30 seconds. Friendliest nicest dog you could want but they do hate bad guys and love to chew on em. Then throw the switch and they'll be really nice to them too.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Bawanna (http://kahrtalk.com/member.php?u=585).

A well trained animal is amazing. And feeling the power of their grip thru a sleeve is a humbling experience, they are powerful animals.

I'm blessed with 2, the one above is mine, Dieter, from German bloodlines and here is a head shot:

And I handle a Czech bloodline for a friend:

Being on the sleeve can be a blast! And afterword, like you said, they are your best buddy in the world and will lick you to death.

This is quite a step up from my trusty KelTec that has been in my pocket since 2005, but my niece is going off to college and t will be handed down to her.

Too bad I didn't find you earlier, the exact one I am interested in, a PM9094NA recently sold in the firearms listing forum.

Like any weapon, there is lots to learn, and this seems like a great place to do so. I have yet to find what I want locally, so I'm educating myself while I shop.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Welcome aboard!

Dieter is a beauty. Thanks for posting. When I was younger, we had a very well (professionally) trained German Shepherd that was silver and black. He was a devoted companion and we miss him.

You know now that I ponder it, I have an officer who has a black PM9 that he's talking about trading off. He wants an XDS, he's very tall and has the biggest hands I've ever seen on a guy. We carry 45's and the XDS is small and will shoot the same bullets but fits his hand much better.

If you want I'll see what he'll take for it on a straight sale and he can send it to you if you agree on a price. I think it has night sights too but I can't swear to it. I know he hasn't shot it much, they seldom shoot their back up guns.

Part of the challenge with the dogs and the sleeves is I'm stuck in a wheelchair. So presenting the morsel of my arm has to be very precise and timed correctly. I've had them drag me all over the place and yank me right out on to the ground if I hit a gopher hole or something. Don't do it anymore, too old and brittle to be drug out of the chair but still a blast to watch.

Our first dept K9 handler taught his dogs commands all in Portugese, so bad guys couldn't yell commands in hopes of fooling the dog.

Nothing like watching a well trained dog work.

Hi LorenzoB (http://kahrtalk.com/member.php?u=9289), my first 2 Shepherds were black and silver, they are beautiful animals. Thanks for the welcome!

Bawanna (http://kahrtalk.com/member.php?u=585) - kudos to you for having the balls to work dogs from a wheelchair. My mother is wheelchair bound, and it is great to see folks who do not let that break their spirit. My dog is trained in german, and the other in Czech - I sometimes about have an aneurism trying to remember what command to say to which dog.

If your buddy's gun is the black stainless with night sights and he wants to sell it, I would be interested. My primary carry is a G30, with the P3AT as a BUG, or primary carry when I'm in shorts. I looked into the XDS and PM45, but wanted a higher magazine round capacity for when I am without the G30, or would have stuck with the 45 pocket carry.

My initial inquiries uncovered some issues with the PM45, and I have a couple of 9mm Sigs around so have a good store of 9mm ammo as well as 45, so I am really leaning toward the PM9 unless board members have a better recommendation for me to look at.

Thank you for your kind offer of investigating your friends firearm for me sir, I sincerely appreciate it.

Welcome aboard...you can't ask for a better "first line of defense." Enjoy the PM9, it'll more than make do for your second line of defense!

Well, I am a bad man ... I succumbed to peer pressure.

All my buddies convinced me that my pocket carry caliber should match my primary carry caliber so I found an XDs for $509 shipped and ordered it last night.

I was really impressed with the PM9, but having a .45 in my pocket was too enticing to pass up.

I've read good things about the XDs, and look forward to putting a few hundred rounds down range once she arrives.

Thanks for the friendly forum.

Hey, it's all good! There is always the future possibility of a P45, CW45 or the smaller PM45 too, but that XDs looks like a good one too. Hope to see you back soon.
