I think I posted this in the wrong area, so I'll try here.
I purchased a PM9 several years ago for my daughter. It functioned without error, then I re-installed the slid lock pin in wrong after cleaning and had to return it to be removed. After another break in period I noticed the polymer was being cut into on the side of the slide. I removed what had been cut out, cleaned the gun.
I've been back 2 times to the range and at 50-80 rounds, it will lockup and refuse to return to battery. I can dissemble it (which is hard to get apart at that point), clean and reassemble and it functions well.
Has anyone had this problem? Any idea what to do?

i dont have the knowledge to help you out here, im sure the KT brain trust will chime in shortly....but, ive found that the front polymer "guides" on my PM45 are quite chewed up after 500 rounds; its still functioning though.

might help us here to U say refuse to lock up, what does that mean, is it partially closng or just staying all the way back etc Not real sure what is causing it. the slide does not run on the polymer gude/rails at all. I there was any high spots on the guide rails by now I would think the wear of the sli8de aganst them would have smoothed them out also.
maybe the first thing to retry is a new recol spring. sometmes they seem to solve alot of things. Fairure to return to battery , u are assuming it is the guide rails causing it--- that might just not be the issue either. With the slide on the gun, it is very hard to say the polymer guide rails are the culprit.
U might take some 600+ grit sand paper and just smooth the heh out of those top polymer rails. They serve one main purpose and that is to help guide the slide back on the frame. they do give additional stiffness to the frame to but also if ther was some warpng or excess polymer in that area, the wear of the slide normaly takes care of that and also some sanding there to.
Some gu grease in the slide rails might give some help also. I am just throwingout some things tocheck out. I can't believe in 75 rounds that the frame is getting hot either and causing some distortion either..
New springs would be first thing I would try..
I can't imagine the improper assembly of the slide lock lever being the culprit but u gotta thing also,,, that this issue started after you did that do, so again I wouldbe at a loss to tell you, for we don'tknow if or any damage was done when the impropler installation was made. I would think it would not..
Is this the blunt nose version PM9 or the new style beveled front ortion of the slide version?? I would recheck the orientationof that outter recoil spring to. The open end of the sring goes towards the front of the slide and most recommend the end (pointed) tip be at the top of the slide.
Look at the kahr lube chart on the kahr tech section. it is listed as a sticky..
