View Full Version : I Got Brassed for Thanksgiving!

I knew it was here when the mail lady looked like the old hunchback carrying a large football shaped "box" to the door. She was wheezing and obviously in pain when I took it off her hands. She remarked "This is HEAVY!" and I told her I would have come out if she'd honked, but she was in a hurry.

Anyway what I received was 3K 45 brass (plus another 300 earlier) and 3, count them, 3 mags for my new G30. All this from the one who has been so generous all along, Mr. Moderator, the Great One, the only.... Bawanna!!!!

I'll be breaking out the reloading rig that a good friend gave me a couple years ago, lets see... yes that was also Bawanna! Now I owe him a kidney, half a liver, a lung, and I'd even toss in a left nut if it weren't all used up.

So thanks old buddy! I'll think of you as I work the handle on the old green machine, 3300 to universal punch, 3300 to shape the outer, 3300 to shape the inner and bell, 3,300 to hand inspect, 3300 hand press to prime, 3300 powder pulls, 3300 bullet seats, 3300 Factory Crimps. Yes sir, that's 26,400 times to bless you. You probably won't feel all that blessing at once though, I'll parse it out a bit, but then as I shoot it, the used goes back into the tubs so the blessings will recycle and keep on a coming for a very long time, several years as I see it. Thank you very much for your generosity, my friend.

Your entirely welcome my friend. You didn't actually count all those did ya? I know it was close to 5 coffee cans but that's as far as I got.

I'm just happy that they made without a big hole in the box and a trail of brass all the way between us.

It should be noted that in my hour of need you send me 300 of my favorite Precision Delta bullets so my near empty ammo shelf is looking a whole lot better so it's a two way street.

That's a lot of lever pulls when you break it down. You'll have arms like Swartnegger before long.

Moral of this story.

Don't ever tell anyone about your good fortune. Everyone you tell wants a piece of it!

Mr. B is a great guy. Isn't he?

I was gonna say the moral was " No good deed goes unpunished".

That was my construction partners favorite saying and found it to be true many times.

And I thought everyone would share in my good fortune. After seeing all your new cars, new guns, new everything I thought you would be happy for me, but now I feel like the nerd in a locker room of jocks. Hell, I'm old and tough skinned but he doesn't deserve this. Bawanna has given to many of us here, from grips to whatever he has laying around.

Maybe everybody should give him something other than a hard time. He loves making grips so why not give him some of the treated grip wood. Look on the grip thread to see what he likes or needs. If he charged the going rate for custom grips he would have lots of wood but he doesn't. You all know who I'm talking too every time you pull out your gun. I know because he made my only set of custom grips which I showed off in the first post of his Emporium Thread. You also know the ones I'm not talking to as I seen generosity work both ways with some grateful ones sending him chunks and slabs of grip wood.

So don't pick on Bawanna, he's my friend and you don't want to piss me off.

Down Simba, down. I'm sure they are just tugging our lower extremities and maybe a tad bit jealous. I'll get more in the future and of course will share accordingly. We're all brothers and sisters here and we try not to play favorites but I do enjoy sending stuff to Simba, I mean Lincoln, Old Lincoln.

My wife hates it when I place a component order. I don't recall ordering loaded ammo in the last couple decades. I did order a bunch of 17 HMR so I guess that was a little white lie, but momma says a little white lie never hurt nobody.
Several of my guns I don't think have ever seen factory ammo.

Linc & Bawanna,
You know I was just kidding. I have at least 1000 rounds of .45 reloads in my safe and enough brass to keep me busy through the winter months. Don't ever take anything that I say seriously, particularly if you see a smiley face. If I liked you two guys any more we'd have to get a room. :D

Nicely done, gentlemen! Yes, Bawanna, I did call you a name . . . but it was a good name. ;)

If I did not have a lifetime supply of commercial .45 ACP squirreled away, I would be jealous. And, yes, I did survive many withering looks from SWMBO and the UPS dudes. But, it has been years, literally, so all is forgiven.

Here's hoping everyone can join me in celebrating OldLincoln's and Bawanna's good fortune! :D

I'm afraid that the UPS man may get a hernia delivering all of those horse heads. Have mercy on him.

I don't think horse heads are on the legit list. They break about every rule (i.e. liquid, fragile, perishable or potentially hazardous, etc.)

How about 6,000 empty 22 mag shells. You could put two together to load in your 44!

Your point being? Do you really think that someone that would think about shipping a horse head really gives a darn?
