Not sure if there has been a thread started on this, but I saw on Kahr's website that the CM45 is 'coming soon'

Neat.

Great news! I knew it was just a matter of time. I've been waiting for a CM45 ever since my PM45 was stolen.

Makes sense. I think awhile back i predicted that to. That gun willbe a big seller like the cm9..

It will unmistakably be a best seller! I just hope they will keep the weight close to the PM45. To me, the 1.2 oz additional weight of the CW45 over the P45 is puzzling. Is the extra weight just from not milling the front of the slide down? Strange because the CM9 and PM9 are the same weight. Shorter guns, but wouldn't there still be a ~0.6 oz difference if the milling is the reason?

well, I've been debating on whether or not to trade my perfectly good (with trij sights) CW9 and a bit of cash for a CW45, and keep my more recently acquired "bootable" CM9. Now I may have to wait it out and consider a trade of the more bootable CM9 for a slightly less bootable CM45. If they were available right now, I'd trade the CM9 (and as little cash as possible) for a NIB CM45. Although the CM has performed perfectly, it's only had a couple of boxes through the tube, so it's really not even passed the break in.

Who wants to trade tomorrow?:D

Jfootin, IMO there should be no difference in the cm45 and the PM45 in weight if both slides are identical. If it is ablunt noxe PM45 and the new cm the beveled slide then the new cm45 should be a tad heavier. All things being the same they shold weight the same. Just sayin.

dometimes kahrs description to can be misleading..

actually from the photos the P45 and the cw 45 have two different slides. The cw 45 slide is longer so there for the barrel is .10 longer, recoil rod and spring longer, so that extra weight ovber theP9 is very understandable.

Now will the cm45 be the new beveled slide version like the cm9 and cm40 or will it maintain the PM45 slide. that will be the question if there is any difference in weights..

Ok, I'm on board. Now if we can get the alloy framed 45's the world would be a much better place. At the very least, I'd be a much happier camper, broke, but happier.

I have ten 45's, five 1911's, and three are polymer, six are alloy, and one, the Detonics, is steel. Guess which is the heaviest pistol in my collection.

As I just posted in another thread, for those of you who (like me) are waiting for a CM45, I called Kahr and was told that they expected to start shipping "probably summer 2013." Damn, I wish it were sooner...
