Is there a way to safey remove aluminum oxide from a polymer framed CM9 without buggering up the frame?
I have an opportunity to pick up a CM9 , but it has one side "enhanced" and im not thrilled with the idea.
Any and all help is appreciated!

is not the aluminum oxide on the slide and not the frame. What would the frame have to do withit. I might be totally mis-nderstandng what your referring to also. the side being stanless, I again wonder where the aluminum oxide is.
Photos might help me to understand better..

Yes, you've raised far more questions than the one you're trying to get answered.
--Why do you think there's aluminum oxide on the frame
--Is it an intentional finish of some kind
--Why is it on one side only
--Got a photo or two, and
--What's the whole story
I'm going to call it though, anyway, and say the answer is, "No." :)
That's because
1) It sounds awful
2) You want to remove it so it must be
3) In my 5 decades of experience if it's awful and you want to get rid of it, you can't.
We talkin aluminum oxide cloth backed sanding sheet? Like.. glued on for traction?

I think you may have something there^^^
I'm wondering if someone glued or attached something to the grip area for even more non-slip surface?
Hey, we need more info/better description. :7:

If what you are talking about is aluminium oxide grip panels glued to the grip you might try a product called Goo Gone. It's lemon oil based and shouldn't harm the polymer.

sorry about the late reply guys,
The aluminum oxide is what looks like epoxy on the grip sprinkled with "aluminum oxide" grip particulates...not really sure what it really is.
I have been debating picking up the cm9 if it can be removed, if not, i'll just buy a new one
if its epoxy... forget it... it aint coming off the plastic without the plastic coming apart too.
I don't know of a way to get them apart...

Epoxy is not coming off without a fight.
Is the gun a "good deal"? What I mean is a substantial discount from the price of a new one? If it is, you might be able to do some judicious sanding of the side and then get some grip covers/sitckons that are less aggressive for pretty cheap to put on both sides of the grip.

just do a grip stipplying lob on the lower and u have a nice defense gun. A woodburing set will do it easily. U can't screw it up.. Or just leave it alone and accept it as it is ..

I just bought a Hogue handall jr. and put it on my PM-40 and love it. You might try that . Only 8 bucks at my local gun store.
