I'm hoping someone here owns the Standard Catalog and Smith & Wesson and is willing to look-up the birth date of a revolver I am ogling.

Here's the gun info:

Model 60, no dash
.38 spl
1-7/8 barrel
Serial: 165xx

DOB?

The gun is in good shape, including the original wood grips and medallions. No box, no papers. What's it worth?

Call Smith & Wesson and they will tell you it's birthday....If it's as nice as you say it may bring in the high $300's to the low $400's depending on how motivated the seller is...Good luck with it and let us know the outcome...

if it's near pristine condition, it could bring $450-475 around here, easy.

There's a long running thread over at THR where you can ask about your revolver's DOB. The member (Radagast) supplying the info is usually pretty quick to respond: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=372213
