self defence ammo

Hello everyone, I have a Kahr cw40 for personal defense, i just purchased a box of Remington 180 gr. HPJ (brass jacketed hollowpoints) but have not had a chance to burn a few off yet, does anyone use or has ever used this ammo? any feedback on pros and cons would be appreciated. thanks 40cw.

I have stayed with gold dots for some years in everthing personal defence. Shoot those remmy's straight and quick on target and all will be good. Just shoot enought to besure they feed well. Might take another brand with you to compare to or in case those have any feeding issues .

Speer Duty GDHP, Winchester Ranger T-Series and Federal HST for me.
I am trying out some Corbon 135 gr 1,325 fps rounds in my HK just because.

Usually run Speer GDHP 155, or 180 Short Barrel, in my MK40.
My personal MK40 will feed anything.
But groups really well, and shoots very soft, with sub sonic 180 rounds.

I only use Remington in my 357 revolvers.
The medium velocity Golden Sabers are very accurate, and fast back on target, in my 2 and 3 inch J/K frame guns.

I prefer a bonded JHP bullet for self defense. The original Golden Saber Remington ammo was not bonded but, recent production does have bonded bullets and will say so on the package. My choice for .40 caliber is Winchester PDX-1 165 gr. JHP with Speer Gold Dot as a good second choice. But really, any quality brand that functions reliably in your gun will do the job.

+2....HST's, Gold Dots & Ranger-T's for me, in that order. The Golden Saber's will work just fine. Shoot what works well in your weapon! :D

I have been issued 180 Hydra Shocks for 12 years in my duty Glock. They run great and are very accurate.
