Guys/Gals I have 4 Kahrs an Mk-9 elite,CW-9, CM-9 and a" P-40 "covert" I know the triggers on the CW & CM are supposed to be a bit long, but I must say they are the best trigger on a striker fired pistol I have ever shot. Everyone of my Kahrs have been 100% right out of the box, didn't even have one problem through the "break in" process. Most of you guys know what a great trigger they have. The MK-9 has a very smooth trigger with not much travel also with a short reset. However my P-40 is like someone has done a trigger job on it. The trigger is so light the other day I pressed the trigger, and I guess because of the recoil it fired again. I may not have been gripping it firm enough. I am not sure about that because before I shot it I had been shooting the CW & the CM.(about 200 rounds) The reset is also very short. I was wondering if this is the way they made them back then (2001) or is something wrong with mine? I love the light trigger and short reset, but not sure if it would be safe for a carry gun. It has very little movement to the rear before it fires. I have not used a trigger pull scale/meter on it yet but plan on it soon. What do you guys think? Thanks for any help.

U did not say if theP40 was bought new by you.Ifit wasused.quite possably someone has modified sumpin, morethanlikely the trigger poundage. I don't see anyway one can modify the trigger travel.this wild take somedoing to doandI would think it might evenbe noticeable by looking atthe triggersystem cmpred to ur other kahrs, your cw trigger system should look the same as the P40.
U might just have a very light striker spring ad i wold suggest just getting a new striker spring from kahr and seeing if that changes anything.
I would see if u can get a trigger pull gauge that works right to and see what it shows..

I bought it new so a new striker spring might do the trick.. I am going to check the trigger pull poundage first. Thanks for your help

My P40 has a very long reset--really revolver like FWIW. Post what the pull weight is. I am curious.

all elite triggers and that is what ur gun has shold have exactly the same trigger pull travel, trigger poundage, trigger reset. why some are different IMO is an anomoly. If u like it the way it is, then enjoy, if u don't like it the way it is then. enjoy it and live with it..
I own 3 kahrs, one with NYPD trigger and all have alot of rounds through them, two have the 5# striker spring, the utter is still factory. I HONESTLY CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE in any of the guns. I guess I am just not that sensitive to an 1/8" difference in trigger travel or a pound+ in pull. Trigger reset to be honest I have never noticed I have always trained to let up on the trigger so quick reset or what ever means nadda to me. I truly think in a SHTF scenario that trigger reset, trigger travel, trigger poundage will never play any part.. Just sayin
