ban hi cap mags, everyone gets a backround check .
What will be a high cap mag? More than 1 rnd?

I don't think the ban that expired in 2004 will be renewed whole-cloth. Even the article admits it would take Republican support to pass federal legislation, and but a few Democrats have spoken out. Manchin's comments were typically moderate. Feinstein always jumps on every opportunity.
It seems as though for every anti-gun voice that pops up after a tragedy, another decides its time to arm themselves. Even liberal Democrats.
You might be right though- we could see a (hopefully temporary) ban on hi-cap mags.
1 round?
All revolver owners required to install the "Barney Fife" adapter, and over/unders and side-by-sides are forbidden...:2rolleyes:

While probably not too far from Liberal Reality, the "Barney Fife Adapter" reference put a smile on my otherwise grim face of late. My wife is a 5th grade teacher, and this past week has been real hard for her to deal with! Thx again for the smile! :D

Except, it isn't true. It is true they haven't had a mass gun killing, but they've had mass killings.
2 mass killings in Australia since port arthur in 1996 as below - neither with firearms. Media forgets about these ones.
They had the Quakers Hill nursing home fire - 11 dead (up to 20 depending on how you see it)

10 round magazines are widely available, as are 10 round limiters, to put into 20 round mags. Most mag retailers sell these.

My suggestion is order as many 30 rd PMags as your bank account will allow. They will ban new production and future sales.
I seriously doubt they will collect those already out there.
Also with the previous ban which expired if a new one is is set in place it's gonna be a muddy river for sure. How does one tell pre ban first time, post ban first time preban second time, etc etc etc.
They will of course expect ranges to be their police and enforce no use of hi cap mags but most I suspect will not work very diligently at it.
I'd not waste a single dime on 10 rd mags although they are good for bench shooting, but little else.

they did that didn't they back on 94, I have no doubt they will do it again, or at least try, along with high capacity mags being illegal, and 10 rounds max in any gun period. There are so many ways to fokk gun owners, they are thinkin right now how to do it, We just gotta hope that a few months down the road, as i don't see anything happening immediatly either but it will happen, . We just gotta hope that cooler heads will then prevail.
They had a Terre Haurte gun shop in TV tonight and he said he was out of ar type rifles, nadda and has no clue when he will get more. I am sure that is all over the cuntry to, but a ban down the road on ar type rifles will surely put many of those gun makers out to pasture, whcih is also the plan
No background check of any type or kind could have prevented what happen..
Hell two cops were killed today, where was Obummer? It was o the 4th page ofmy local paper tonight. Oh well they were just cops:7: I was so glad for football yesterday and also for tonight to. I know what I am gonna watch--DO U??

Nah. If hi-cap mags are banned, in no time, all you will see is tons of 10 rounders on the shelves. Manufacturers will do everything they can to make up for the loss of sales. There might be a blip for a few weeks, but it will level off. I just hope this doesn't fly. So stupid.
But really, buy all the 30 rounders you can now just in case. I feel there will not be s sunset like the last ban.

I was in Indiana over the week end too attend my Daughters Graduation at Butler U. She got her Masters in Education. After all the celebration she asked me to help her pick out a hand gun.
She said that laws won't protect her, she needs to be able to protect herself.
She bought an xdm 9mm.

my only gun.... RG14 that shoots 22 LONG rifles... only holds six bullets, but I've been told that it's so old that it doesn't have the proper safety stuff (transfer blocks or something like that), so I only keep 5 bullets in it (none of them are lined up with the barrel hole). It's kind of black, but it does have some brown colored plastic pieces on the handle...so it's not all black. Is it going to be o.k. to keep it in my sock drawer as is, or is there some new part that I can have installed so it's not high capacity? Do I need to take it to the factory and get the color changed? Is there a particular bullet that would be safer for me to put in it? I remember mr clinton's lady, general elders, talking about safer gunz and safer booletz.... what to do????? Can someone give me the phone number for the RG factory?

My dear departed Dad left it to me. I had to sell my last two semi-automatic pistols a couple of weeks ago to pay my property taxes so as I could stay in my house for another month. I still have a J.C. Higgins .410 shotgun that my maternal grandfather gave me in 1963. It only holds one bullet at a time, and has wooden handles. I know it only has one bullet, but inside that are a whole bunch of little bullets... are those high capacity since there's a whole bunch of little bullets inside that one big .410 bullet?
THanks for your help Jocko.... I just want to make sure I'm going to be legal.

Thanks, jocko. Now I find out that RGs are rare and valuable? WTH.
When my Dad died, I went home to Miami to help my Mother out. Fix up the house and that kind of stuff. Found an RG that only fired 22 shorts and looked like it had been gunsmithed by Bubba. Had a stove bolt holding the cylinder in and a wood screw somewhere that there was no wood. Took it to the police station and turned it in for destruction. Took about one hour of paperwork to turn it over. Told the cop that had I known it would be this much trouble, it would have been better if I'd have just thrown it in a canal. He agreed.

that woldhave been the RG10, u got ride of a real gem there. Had u thrown it in the cana lback then it would be perfect today for pot metal doesn't rust. Ucould have with my advice now went back and got it out of the canal and just rinsed it off and shot it like u stole it. I once had an
RG 10 and had over 32K rounds through it. Great gun, highly accurate to. I shot it better than any of my kahrs and for $5 they were a real deal. I bought mine back years ago, I think 50 years or so and with 10 box tops off of a wheaties box, I got an additonal $6 off, so that meant thatthe RG people send me the gun free with a $1 dollar check in the box to me. U just can't find deals like that anymore. Now I am not pullin ur leg on ths either

my RG has the medal rod that has to screw out to take out the bullet holder, but it works good and holds the bullet holder pretty tight. I kno it's not as valuable as most of the other black colored guns, but it works almost every time i've practised with it. I still have a bunch of .22 longs in a box stamped "Imperial" that my Dad had in the box (from his Dad... my other grandfather). They are marked "High Velocity"..... are they going to be legal to keep?

The steel sleeve inserts for the cylinder and barrel will rust, though.
My first pistol... age 18 in 1965... in California, no less... was a Rohm revolver... around $20 or so... German made pot-metal with steel inserts for the cylinder and barrel... as was the Hawes single action western-styled revolver that I bought in 1968... around $60 to put a hole in my leg while emulating and imitating Clint Eastwood! The Hawes was real "quality". The housing for the floating firing pin cracked... epoxied it. The leaf spring for the pawl broke into two pieces... epoxied those slightly overlapping. When the top strap broke, I decided it was time to get rid of it. I had already knocked some chunks of pot metal from around a cylinder or two when I was fanning the pistol and SPLIT a bullet! Most of the bullet went down the cylinder and out the barrel, but some sprayed out the side!
This was also the pistol that fell out of my holster as I picked up the belt... six rounds of ratshot loaded... AND discharged... without hitting me... or the trunk lid of my '58 Chevy Impala! Did I mention putting a hole through my leg with fast draw??
I got all of that stuff out of my system and lived... without too much pain and lasting injury. I'm very safe with guns these days... and my trigger finger stays away from the trigger until the pistol is aligned with the target... until I jerk it to fire!
We went to Carrabas for dinner tonight. It was dark, so I decided to take my neglected "Boomer" with night sights, instead of the P40. We even got my favorite seat... all the way into the back left side of the room with my back in the corner. No Luby's Massacre is gonna happen to us! That incident is ALWAYS on my mind when we go out to eat.

That's what gun buy-back programs are for. They just had one in Baltimore this last weekend. $100 / gun, any condition, no questions asked. A few years ago I did that at a similar gun buy-back program and unloaded some real junk for way more cash than they were worth.
