I've now got about 600 rds through my CM9, shooting better/smoother all the time. Cleaning it after my last range trip I noticed some small nicks on the edge of the center rail over the firing pin (sorry don't know the specific name of this). They are near the rear on the same side as the slide release. Three small gouges that I can catch with my finger nail.

I don't know if I just never noticed it before or if something is causing this. Gun is shooting ok so not sure if this is a source of concern.

Any insights are appreciated.

I wanted to post a pic but my profile says "may not post attachments"?

I think ur referring to the rail on the bottom of the slide (I think). that rail pushes the next round out of the magazine into the chamber. Have no idea how those nicks got there, more thn likely they were there from the git go andu just noticed it now. My thoughts, take soe 600+ grit sand paper and smooth u down and just shoot the gun like u stole it. The guns is running perfect, keep an eye in that rea downt he road but my bet is that is was there the day u bought it. That little bastard cm9 is just a tank gun, u ca't hurt it.. so shoot it..

Thanks Jocko. That is the part I'm talking about. I agree I can't see any way operation would cause it. The angle of the nick looks like it would have occurred when the slide was going forward. But the only thing I could see it hitting would be the edge of the casing and those angles don't match.

I think this may have been the first time I've cleaned it without my contacts in which tend to mess with my near vision. I'll chalk it up to that. I'll smooth it out as you suggest and keep an eye on it.
