I would appreciate some feedback on folks experience using the Pierce Finger Extension on the CM9 6 round mags.

They seem to be a great solution for those who want to be able to get a fuller grip.

Do they work well? Any problems with them?

Thanks.

I use them on the 6 round mag for the CM9, but I am torn about them.
They help with pinkie placement but they kind of defeat the true design of the CM9. It makes it nearly as long as a CW9. the conceal-ability aspect is what you'll give up.

If you can do it, learn to shoot it well without them IMHO. I was never comfy without it on there.

I think they work great. They do stick out a but and make the gun slightly harder to conceal under some clothing. Here is a pic of my PM9 on top of my Kimber Ultra CDP II .45. That said, for the money, they are worth a try.

I do use them on most of my mags. When I carry my PM9 on my belt I use them; when I carry it in my pocket I change out the mag.

I took mine off. At first I liked them, but then they just started to annoy me. I also got rid of the hogue grip which was also annoying me. I can't explain why but, I just like it better the way I received it from Kahr.

Steve,

That's what I figure I will wind up doing .

I have them for CM9 and P380, but I used them only for a while. I agree with the others who say to use it as Kahr intended and get used to the compact design. It is one of the things that makes the guns so special.

I use them on my PM9 and my MK40. They give me a little more to grab when drawing from their holsters and give a little more grip when firing. I carry AIWB and they really don't comprimise conceallability for me.

They are not that expensive so I think you should try them. If they don't work for you, then don't use them.

LProf,

Your welcome to my extensions if you want them. PM an address and I'll mail them to you. Rather see them used than sitting in a drawer.

I chucked mine....defeats the small size of gun. If you need a longer grip get a BIGGER gun.

I agree, if you want your pinky on the grip you should have got a CW. I guess if you have the CM the extensions will make it work until you get a gun that's a better fit. IMO a 7 round mag might be a better choice because you get another round to compensate for carrying the longer grip.

What I did with mine. I have a belt-sander and sanded it to my liking eliminating the excess.

I took mine off. Every time I fired, a piece of my ring finger or little finger got a nasty pinch in the gap between the bottom of the grip and top of the extender.

I also concluded that the extender reduced the concealability of my CM9. It's easy for that pointy extender to print.

I tried them and took them off because they would pinch my pinky skin in between when i would shoot. I ended up doing the mod listed on here somewhere where you replace the magazine plate with the ones from the PW9. Gives a tad more grip and looks better than stock imo.

Like the last few posters, this was a bad purchase for me. Pinkie pinch is a problem. I tried it as stock...pinched. I reduced the overall length...pinched. The wife tried with the modified version...pinched.

I'm out.

Someone willing to pay for shipping and a very reasonable/minimal give-away price...well you figure it out.

On my CM9 I use one, on one of my mags, but not the other. So like others I can switch as my concealment requirements dictate for that day. Have no problems concealing IWB with it on there, and actually like the look and feel. Never been pinched by them. Use the mag without it for pocket carry and the like.

Couldn't one just round the edge where it meets the frame to stop the pinching?

Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I have one regular mag, and two with extentions.
After reading this string, I tried to pinch myself and couldn't. Once in place there is a space, but the space does not close up. It is stable. At the range I like the extentions. For carry Ilike the flush mag.
