I am confused I have owned a number of other guns and have never heard of a problem caused by carrying with one in the chamber:with the slide locked back, put the full mag in the gun, chamber a round, with the Kahr by releasing the slide lock, remove the mag, replace the round, replace the mag and one should be good to go.
What am I missing here? If carrying with one in the chamber is problematical with the CM9, then I need to change my buying decision. I had decided to order a CM9.

Sounds right by me. That's why it's called a 6+1

Where have you heard such nonsense? We just had a long thread here where any idea of Kahrs not being agreeable with +1 loading being totally debunked. Why start it over again?
Of note: With this post I became a 5K Member. Need to get a life, I guess. :w00t:

No, what you need is an intervention!

Congrats on the 5k posts.
On the +1 idea, there should be no problem at all in carrying the gun that way. I would suggest if anyone has reported that being a problem, they have not went through their "200 round break-in". If any gun claims to not be able to handle +1, you would never be able to reload without shooting the gun dry....

OK, thanks for the clarification, Sorry, I did not intend to rehash an issue which had already been debunked. I am new to the Forum and to Kahrs, and must have somehow misread a post.
Very Glad to learn it is not an issue.
Looking forward to getting my own CM9. Recently shot a friends and loved it.

No worries on asking the question about it, it was just something that was discussed in length earlier this week, and truthfully is a bit of a crazy idea. Any gun that could not handle +1 has major problems simply because of the "combat reload", meaning not running out of ammo before reloading.
Welcome to the Forum and Congrats on getting the CM9, they are a nice little carry gun. Make sure and look at the prep and lube stickies on this thread, and you'll love the gun and be able to shoot it like you stole it.

I shoot mine on the range 6+1 all the time. It takes a little effort but thats how I carry so that how I practice. No problems at all. In all fairness I did only load 6 thru the break in, don't know if it really mattered or not. Happy shooting.

After reading many forums and purchasing a CM40 a few weeks ago I've come to the conclusion that the Kahr suffers from a "1911 Type" bias. Many people buy these two types of guns and take them out and shoot 20 rounds through them and if they have a malfunction or two it's straight to the message boards to bash them. I took my CM40 to the range after hand racking the slide numerous times. I fired a mixture of FMJ and JHP through my gun. I loaded +1 and also loaded a mixture of different loads in the same magazine. My CM40 has been 100% out of the box. These Kahr pistols are VERY TIGHT. I was also pleasantly suprised by the quality these guns possess.
