Quiet night. Everyone but me must be out partying :)
Oh well, I've looked at the XS Big Dots and decided I might try them. Having ordered from Kahr before and knowing they are sooooo slow shipping items, I decided to order direct from XS. I checked their website and low and behold on their "order" page, Kahr was not listed in their long list of guns (I asked them to correct that). So, as they had a Kahr logo as one of the brands on their site, and Kahr sells them, I figured I call anyway. When I got to their website "contact" page, I discovered that they are made 10 miles from me!
So, I drove on over, bought the sights, and had my gunsmith install them (glad I did, as they required a good deal of filing and fitting as per their videos, and I knew I'd just screw it up). They were on the gun 2 hours after my call. They are very visible in darkness, but I mainly wanted them for the BIG dot. With my trifocals, in some lighting conditions outdoors, I can't focus on the standard front tiny dot too well. You can't miss this dot :D
Now to the range Monday!

I like am alot myself. I have the standard dot on several which was enough to help my eyes pick em up. If / when I get my PM45 someday I suspect I'll put the big dot on it. They are really fast to pick up.

indeed when the eyes start to go that little bigger dot is really nice, not sure it was designed with that intention either but they are very nice. I have um on my PM9 and P380 . Most after market sights do require some smooting on the bottom of the sight base for easier installation. Just rubbing back and forth on some sand paper will fit them in a heartbeat.
Enjoy the xs, they are super. IMO not a target sight but certainly a very fast close up acquisition type sight that does what it is designed to do.

I have XS Big Dots on all my pistols.
Best defensive handgun sights made IMO.
btw: don't let people tell you they are only good up close and are not "precision" sights.
I can easily make 25 yard head shots and 100 yard popper hits.
Once you learn the proper sight alignment, you can make precision shots just as easily as with notch/post sights.

And it's easy with the standard dot that I have on all my full size guns. As stated you just gotta learn the alignment.

Jocko, you made my day, a little humor always makes my day. I didn't know para made a watch. I'm off to the range today, been a long time. My para's and the K40 are slated for a workout. Got a dang headache but a little burnt powder should straighten me right out.

OK, back from the range (day early), and the snow we had last night is gone!
Well, I AM VERY HAPPY with these big dots. They are easy to pick up, and I was surprised at how accurate I was at 30'. Initially I just shot at 10 - 15' and was keeping them in the 3" target bullseye offhand with a few just outside the bull. OK, I was very happy then, but when I moved out to 30 - 35' offhand I was keeping 4 of 7 shots regularly in the bullseye. This is unheard of for me, so I was thrilled. These are not range target sights by any means, but for quick acquisition at eye level, they are hard to beat.
My biggest issue remains muscle strength, as I am still weakened after hauling the range bag around before shooting, and that causes a less than steady hold. I'm confident, even at age 68, I can strengthen them with a good bicep, tricep, forearm & wrist weight program. Won't take long ;)

XS sights are just as precise as notch and post if the shooter is up to the task.
At today's "concealed carry match" (which I won easily) I was 3 for 3 on a 35 yard target, all 3 shots were in a fist sized group in the A-zone.
I shot the entire match with no points down.
Stock Glock 31 with XS Big Dots.

I'm not a competitor (obviously), and certainly can't argue with success such as yours. However, at 35 yds you are using the 6 o'clock hold, according to the XS sight diagrams, and you can see your intended point of impact. Closer in, say 15 yds, the big dot can obscure the bullseye (3") and if you have no other surrounding circles or reference points other than the stick-on bullseye, you can't be sure you are centered on it. I believe with a notch and post you can. I just believe they were mainly designed as combat sights to get you on the target quickly and accurately, not to give you tiny shot groups at long range. Just MHO. But hey, you have had great success, and as I said I can't argue with that :)

Remember, even notch/post sights are not 6 o'clock hold at every range.
At some point in the trajectory you have to cover the bullseye with the front post or move it up and down within the rear notch.
