I rarely get into discussing this area with others than my family and really close friends and associates but after reading through the list, some of this offends what little delicate sensibilities I have left.

After looking at the list of "celebrities" from actors/actresses to directors, musicians, writers etc., I am floored by the number who portray the following:

1. BGs

2. people in need of help (being attacked) who "resort" to FA methods to "defend" their lives

3. people who sing about the above

4. people who write about or write the stories for the above

I mean come on, Eli Wallach?!!! :2rolleyes:

I have a feeling that most of these don't know what they are putting their name to when they sign a petition or they "need" to sign them to stay in Hollywood's good graces.

Either way I think it is hypocritical in the greatest sense to make one's living portraying one thing while "preaching" another to the general sheeple. What a crock of dung!!!

What really irks me about the rest on the list (medical people aside because I understand their gripe) is that some of these companies are so large, so diversified that it is almost impossible to not purchase goods and services from them. It is similar to Disney in that most people have no idea how involved Disney is in their daily lives (all manner of goods and services from food to clothing, gas, mortgages, medicine and on and on and on).

Remember actors are fakes. That's why they are actors. They can say one thing and mean another, also they are the best when it comes to do it to everyone else but not me. Think Rosie, Oprah, ban all guns except my bodyguards.
As far as corporations and companies, anytime you have lots of people, your bound to include a certain amount of idiots who don't know charmin from shinola. I'm sure alot of common sense people like us work for corporations who employ the aforementioned idiots. There's even a few of us here who still blame Bush!!! for the current situation.
If you don't use these companies theres gonna be alot of not eating, not wearing clothes, not using the phone, not watching tv or movies, generally a pretty dismall picture, maybe the not wearing clothes would be ok. Anyhow I'm ranting as well. AND I also try not to utilize anti gun or anti bawanna companies, doctors and such if I know.
Be strong my children, the elections are coming. Watch movies for the movie not the actors and actress's misguided beliefs.

I hear ya quikduk about the entertainers who just want to stay in the good graces of the Hollywood clique. Those same hypocrite entertainers have body guards with what, sling shots, eskrima sticks, brass knuckles…NO, they carry firearms! Well imagine that. Yes, and some of those corporations are big, very big and it’s difficult not to run their products where ever you turn. Auh Disney, the company that brought us the big bad Bambi killer. Don’t get me going on that one.

Do we need the NRA? You bet your sweet #$@ we do! I wish it was an even larger organization to get in the face of companies like Sara Lee.

When it comes to celebrities I dont even try to keep up anymore, Id never see another movie in my life. Besides I think they all just mindlessly jump on the bandwagon anyway like every other cause they claim to bleed for. However when it come to companies I try my best. Stopped buying levis a year ago, that was a tough one for me. A pair of jeans that fit just right are a rare and beautiful thing. Swithced to wranglers and dickies but to get the style that fit just right I usually have to buy online.

Hmmm, that could have been construed as Ruger's attempt to deflect and appease the coming storm that did come and has since past, but seems to be brewing again. I happen to have four Ruger's, and I gotta say that I love them dearly. The other side of that equation is that with the SR9(c) and the new additions to the CCW market, and with the SR556, Ruger's board has finally seen the light. This requires more study I think. Bill Ruger has been a person of high regard in my opinions.

Thanks for the clarification joje. I didn't make the connection to the wikopedia and was taken aback by all the Ruger stuff. I thought you were a representative of Ruger. If in fact the "letter" is true and I don't doubt that it is I would say it was a slight boo boo in a lifetime of wonderful achievements in Bill Rugers. Many years ago I had a telephone conversation with the man himself and it will always be noted as a highlight in my life. He was a truely down to earth honest guy. I suspect as often happens he spoke without looking at the big overall picture. Much as S&W did much more recently. I'm happy to say that as traumatic as that event was they seemed to have recovered under new management and are thriving and doing very well. I only hope for some miracle to get Colt back into the civilian market on a scale much closer to the old days. I guess I just long for the old days in general.

but anyway, before then im looking to get a pm9 or possibly cw9 for ccw, which is why i joined this board. i like to read up on my future guns before actually buying them

I'd have no hesitation getting the Blackhawk you won't be dissappointed. I currently have 4 and they are hands down the most trouble free guns I've ever owned. If you've avoided them since the Clin crap I can't even type that word you've only cheated and abused yourself. Like those that boycotted S&W, perhaps they messed up but they still had a great product. They deserved the boycott but that was yesterday, it's a new ball game, bury your hatchet.
The PM9 is very very popular here too and you won't be dissapointed with it either.
