Magazine base

Thinking about ordering some new base plates but a little confused.

Can you tell me the difference between these. Also if anybody has pictures with them installed that would be great.

I'm pretty sure the difference is just that one is black. What gun do you have? The black ones are a recent addition, some people used paint or magic markers to make their silver ones black. I think wyntrout bought some. I machined some custom baseplates that I would like to sell, but I am not ready yet (but close). I don't get much time to work on side projects these days. The black ones are just a choice for $5 more. Some of us DON'T like shiny stuff, especially the base plates sticking out of the black polymer grips.

I bought one each for my P40, P9, & PM9. Switching from the polymer to the real flush plates leaves a bit of a gap that can pinch. My P40 did and I immediately tried some O-rings. The P9 looked like it might, but my PM9 hasn't been a problem. The bike tube grip might help on it.

Both are stainless steel, but one is coated black. Usually they say stainless or SS for the bare metal.
