Whoa. This one just arrived yesterday and it's exactly what I was looking for--well exactly what I was looking for in Kydex but that wasn't going anywhere, so I settled for leather. Couldn't be happier...

This one is made by International Handgun Leather (IHL) and looks quite a bit like others such as the Galco Concealable and the Gould & Goodrich B800 series. I like this one because it's a fairly high-ride, covers the muzzle for added retention safety in the car, etc., and doesn't have excessive cant. I had this one set up for a 1 3/4" belt, which is what I wear most of the time.

IHL offers their stuff for a huge variety of handguns, and I was a wee bit skeptical about just how custom the fit would be for a relatively outside-the-mainstream gun like the K40. Wow...the holster was shrink wrapped to a K40, and fits snug in every possible direction.

Anyway, I'd never heard of this company before and just wasn't finding what I wanted anywhere--very happy to find this style for my K.

That is a really beautiful holster! How have I missed this well established quality holster maker all this time? Really impressive gun list - about every gun in existence. Thanks Bongo Goy!

I am looking for a K40 holtser. I have always had a thumb break so that is what I'm looking for now.
Can you tell me how well your holster retains the pistol? Is there a tension screw?

Thanks

Also check out Nelsonholsters.com. Lenoir N.C. You can hold the gun in the holster upside down and it won't fall out. He can add thumb break if you want.
